Words Of ShockThe news came suddenly and was very unexpected. The last time we had spoken I knew something was wrong. Some undercurrent just a sense gleaned from the occasional odd turn of phrase. But that was weeks ago. I became distracted with my own life and thought little of it. Looking back I probably should have paid more attention.

After procrastinating for months I finally have joined U-logs. I kind of like that there are 3 different editors for different type of posts. I have attempted before to use a different interface. So far I just end up back posting straight from Steemit because it is what I am accustomed to. Maybe I can change my habits time will tell. It seems easy enough to use. The hardfork has thrown my Steemit routine way off. Didn't help that I was out of town the following week. Wish I could say the above image has been my distraction. Sadly not it is an older photo from Florida. Looking out at that ocean does make me think of Steemt. There is such a large ocean of posts to read, people to connect with, and things to do here. One could get lost in it if there were enough free hours to spare. I pretty much came here having no idea what I was getting into. Maybe some can just stick a toe in the ocean and then walk away. I am starting to find that the deeper I swim the harder it is to come out of the water. That very well could be the reason we are given the fishy rankings. I for one am hooked. Beating The R.C. BluesThe Steemit community is truly filled with generosity. That has become even more evident in the face of the new challenges brought on by the latest hard fork. As many new users have found themselves unable to even comment these generous projects are even more necessary. Also the smaller accounts may be much harder to find if they are unable to comment enough to make themselves seen. If you are one of these smaller accounts please do reach out. There are many people who are willing to try and help. New redfish are being considered this week. So if you have less than 75 sp get over there and apply for this delegation. I was fortunate enough to be chosen in the 2nd round of the redfish rockets. Along with @buckaroo, @cicisaja, @tryskele. The four of us to this day are keeping up with each other. We continue to push, pull, and encourage one another along to being minnow. I can't emphasize enough how much of a help this was all around. It is much more than just an 8 week loan of SP. It seems like a good time for a road marker post. More for my own benefit than anything else.I want to be able to look back and see where I was at. For me October always marks a shift as the days become cooler and the leaves begin to turn. Today being the 1st day of October starts my 8th month here.I am pretty happy with where I am at right now. I still do not post as much as I should but do try for 2 or 3 a week ( lots of times lucky to get in one) I did manage to get @shellad to start an account just before the fork. At least she has it if she ever decides to do something with it. The fork last week marks a turning point for the platform as a whole. I see a few communities building a presence outside of the platform. I feel very fortunate to be taking part in the beginning stages of a couple of projects with great potential. While conserving my RC during the fork I decided to check out Weku. Turns out someone is over there signing up with a lot of peoples Steemit names. To make it worse they are also using the person's avatar pic. My account is far too small for anyone to want to impersonate. But I did find that bit of info to be worth knowing. I went ahead and signed up because they give you 100 free units to start. Naturally I have a referral link. : Not sure if I will ever use that account but at least my name is reserved there in case I do.
