It was an absolute delight to meet up with @steevc @alessandrawhite @shanibeer @chris-uk @gillianpearce today in the town of Bedford. It was a good 2h 20m by car and similar time back at the end of the day. We met at The Olive Tree, a Mediterranean restaurant and the food was lovely. I’ve met Steve before but this was the first time I’d been to a bigger gathering and I’d definitely go to another one.
After lunch we went for a walk along the Great River Ouse. Since this is the first time I’d been to Bedford, I would like to go back at some point to explore a little more.
If I do, I’ll check in at The Swan which is where we ended up for some more drinks, chatted some more for a couple of hours. It is a lovely hotel with spa facilities and a fabulous looking restaurant.
We decided we should host more meetups and a number of locations were suggested.
Whilst walking along the river, I was excited to discover a slalom kayak course, celebrating Etienne Stott’s gold medal awarded at the London Olympics 2012. Have you ever been to Lee Valley? We’ve an opportunity to kayak there at some point.
