A street with Chinese vibes.In my previous blog, I wrote about the Old Town area in my city. I mentioned that it was where various cultures interacted and influenced each other between Europe, Chinese, Malay, and Arab. While the Old Town area features more buildings with a European touch, Kya-kya is the area most influenced by Chinese culture. So it’s like the Chinatown in my city.

Where the richness of history blends beautifully with modern nuances.The Old Town area is probably my favourite route for cycling in my hometown. I really enjoy wandering around this area on Sunday morning because there are always many people doing various activities as well. In 2024, the goverment is revitalize this area to make it more lively and interesting enough to visit, both for tourists and locals.

Chaotic, yet most needed to get out of rut.In early May, I decided to go on a solo road trip to Malang. Honestly, it wasn’t an impulsive trip without a plan. I purposely wanted to go to checked out a place I might rent for my next period of time in Malang. I used to live there for work, but decided to go back to my hometown since January. I still work at the same company remotely, and for some reason I wanted to go back to Malang this time.

Perfect for those who can read Korean, which is not me.This library cafe has been on my list for a long time. The videos of this cafe that people uploaded on social media looked very cozy and aesthetic. Before I knew that almost all the books they had were in Korean. And the thing is, I only watch K-bands and never really know anything else like Idols, K-dramas, or even books from Korean authors. So I’ve never wanted to learn the language.

I understand why they call it nature therapy.Living in the city, often feels like I’m so far from nature. There are only the sound of vehicles here and there, skyscrappers that felt like competing to be the tallest, and lack of green scenery. However, in fact, there are still some natural spaces that can be found in some corners of the city. This “Kebun Bibit” is one of them.
