Just this morning, I went to buy a crate of eggs and was shocked to find the price had increased by 20% compared to two weeks ago. Not only that, these were smaller eggs. The seller explained that the larger ones were even more expensive. I found myself at a crossroads, wondering wether to go beyond my budget or go home without eggs.

Don't get me wrong, I also love to vibe, and I have curated many Amapiano playlists and other pop music here and there. But a song that has emotional depth is still much more important. And I guess that’s what drew me to Davido’s latest album 5ive, a 14-track project that dropped with much anticipation following the massive success of Timeless in 2023.

Those were fulfilling days too, in their own way. I didn’t have to carry the burden of making decisions for myself. My parents held the wheel, and they did a good job. I’m very grateful to them because I like the person I am today.
