As there was no SE (special edition) #HHHLive show last week, and it was the last Wednesday of the month, I have decided to run it with 1-week delay... It's important to have this kind of place where participants can suggest topics to discuss or to ask questions about HIVE that don't suit in some specific, topic-oriented show... In the end, if we want to be an example of decentralized, uncensored social media, we have to give space to others to share their views and opinions... Okay, the show is run on Discord, but still, the discussions are about HIVE!
We had many different things happening during the previous shows, dozens of "hot-mics", eating spaghetti, driving a car, or just yelling in the background... 😅 Things that happen when you are doing something LIVE, and that "randomness" is why I like these freestyle shows, as I have no idea where the topic will go... Sometimes, there are suggestions on the announcement posts, and we tend to talk about them, but the rest is unknown...
Before going into the recap, just a short heads-up about the TIME of these shows... You can see that it is still at 5 PM UTC, but because of the daylight savings change, it is an hour later than usual... I did ask participants about it, and from the experience of past shows (people coming into the after-show), the majority agreed that it's better to do them like that... The summer is near and everyone wants to enjoy the sun as much as possible... So, pay attention to your local time when you are making your daily schedule... Also, there is a possibility to move the show even 1 hour later, but we will see about that when the time comes...
We had nice discussions on various topics in the show, but everything began with a short talk about the current crypto state... As the show was happening around the time when Trump was doing his "tariffs presentation", the price of BTC was going wild!!!
@jza jumped on the mic first and shared with us some charts showing how BTC is following the M2 supply...
According to him (and this chart), we could expect to see the BTC price around $105K at the beginning of May and maybe $150K until the end of the year... I mean, nobody knows what will happen, but it's nice to hear some hopium... 😃
The next big topic that we touched on in the show is the VSC network, or more exactly, running the node and trying to summarize what will come first in the short term...
Luckily for us, when we raised that topic,
@tibfox joined the show! As he is running the VSC node, he was a perfect person to give us some answers and some details that we didn't know... For example, the official Github link where you can find all development,

@tibfox has also shared some practical tips if you want to run a VSC node... to pay attention on permissions, and also about the future requirements of having 2000 HIVE staked to VSC for running a node... Currently, you can do it without that requisite...
During the show,
@melinda010100 mentioned in the chat the Ecency contest that will be organized for the participants at Hive Creator Days, Graz this year... We got some insider information about that before anyone else... (don't worry, you will get more details in the official post soon 😃). Speaking of Melinda, she also mentioned a new super-useful tool for people who send POINTS to multiple accounts... For the second half of the show, we had a broad discussion about HIVE... It wasn't just one specific topic, but rather more small, but important ones... As we talked about the VSC, we had to talk about the potential use-cases that could be implemented by building apps thanks to smart contracts... HIVE is a social media platform, but having more use cases can't harm; as a matter of fact, it could work very well as at this moment, almost all "participants" rely or on HIVE rewards pool, or on DHF funds... It's time for us to step up and create use cases where people can earn (and spend) their tokens...
We were talking about automatic votes, trails, and their negative impact on the ecosystem... Also, it's worth saying that it is not always the "fault" of authors (for being overvalued by upvotes), as a big part is done by curators... I would call it, responsible curation, but in the end, it's just manual curation that means the most...
That led to another important topic, which is 'education" of newbies and where you can learn the most... We all agreed that communities are the crucial part of HIVE, as they are places where newbies see the "first rules" (of specific communities), but also, where they can find a helping hand... It is happening in certain communities, and you can see by the numbers and the content quality which are they...
