Good day communityThe parks of the city of Cáceres, located in the Extremadura region, are another reason to visit this extraordinary city, a World Heritage Site. On this occasion, and on this exceptional day at the beginning of January in the meridian of autumn, walking through the Prince's Park is a unique and exceptional experience. After a tour of the oldest part of this medieval town, I headed towards this enormous park in the heart of the town. I headed towards the east entrance of the park to take a complete tour of it and try to experience all the intensity and variety of plants and trees that this park offers to the visitor. Upon entering, I could see several paths that branched off, some of sand and others paved through the center of the park itself, accompanied by beautiful waterfalls and water fountains that gave that touch of movement to the park's landscape. In this first area, I was surprised by the type of vegetation I saw, since it was a Mediterranean forest with pines, firs, cork oaks and other varieties and species from this region of Europe.

Good day communityMy travels to southern Europe took me to the town of Algeciras, located in the province of Cadiz in the autonomous community of Andalusia. One of the southernmost points and situated in a privileged location due to its climate and orography, the city is presented as a starting point towards the African continent, being one of the main ports of embarkation to this continent. I headed from the provincial capital along the national highway N-340, going around the entire Cadiz coast in the south until I reached the town. After passing through some hills where it was clear to me that the east wind was a factor that dominated the climate of the region, I began to go down to the city to go to the place where I would spend the night, prepare for this journey, rest and have dinner before starting this adventure through the city of Algeciras. Although I prepare my trips a little by gathering information about what I am going to visit, I always ask the local people since they give me a much more realistic and concrete vision of the place and the things I can visit in the places I go to.

Good day communityThe region known as “La Serena” in the autonomous community of Extremadura covers a fairly large area and is bathed in a large part by the Guadiana river as it passes through this land. I was in the south-central part of the province of Badajoz visiting this part of the community and trying to visit the main towns in this region. That day I left the capital of Cáceres in the sister province of the north to head along the EX-A4 motorway that would take me for a few kilometres to the area I had planned to visit. The towns of Don Benito and above all, what interested me and was going to be my goal was the nearby town of Villanueva de la Serena. Currently there is a great twinning between both cities and they are considering the possibility of joining them into a single town. There is a great controversy about this and points that have yet to be fully agreed upon, such as the name or other reasons why this merger is being delayed.

Good day communityOne of the regions with the longest river coast in Europe is the community of Extremadura, where the largest and deepest freshwater bodies, lakes and reservoirs on the continent are found. On this trip to the south of the autonomous community of Extremadura, to the province of Badajoz, the visit to some of these reservoirs, their landscapes and their locations are a natural journey of enormous beauty as well as being the natural resource par excellence of all our societies, water. I began this tour of reservoirs and reservoirs in the autonomous capital of Extremadura, the city of Mérida, to set off along the EX-105 road that would take me to the Alange reservoir and the town located on its shore of the same name. As I approached this gigantic and deep reservoir, I was very struck by the colour of its waters, an intense blue that stood out and reflected the colour of the sky on this day. It was one of the first impressions left by the visit to this reservoir, which was also accompanied by the large river beach prepared at the foot of the town of Alange.

Good day communityOn this occasion as special as the last day of the year continuously for the lands of "La Serena" in the Autonomous Community of Extremadura in the town of Zalamea de la Serena. This town is right in the center of this region and popularizes one of the great works of Pedro Calderón de la Barca, playwright and Spanish priest with his work "The mayor of Zalamea". Likewise, the composition of a Castilian grammar of Antonio Nebrija as a birthplace. In this tour of "La Serena" and starting from the city of Mérida, Capital D Extremadura, I went on the Ex-103 road first to the Zalamea reservoir dam before going to the town. I stopped for a long time and walk on the shore of it since I woke up with an excellent sunny day. I toured part of the local swamp recreation zone and I was surprised by its size and capacity.

Good day communityIn the area called “La Serena” in the south-central part of the province of Badajoz, which is characterised by its farmland, large estates and the proximity of the Guadiana River, there are some small mountainous elevations that stand out from the landscape. This type of elevated terrain was very valuable as it dominated a large area or region and there was a tendency to build buildings, fortresses or castles on them. My travels took me to this town located on the side of this mountain and which at its peak dominates the remains of the castle, Magacela. I left the capital of the community, Mérida, to head along the EX-346 road and reach another provincial road, the BA-084, which would take me to the town of Magacela. In the distance, long before arriving, the mound where it was located in this area of ​​plains in the province of Badajoz, in the northwest of Spain, was already notable.
