Day one in the Azores Portugal. Sao Miguel island. Town of Furnas. Terra Nostra Park. Hot Springs and Botanical Garden. We were on the road bright and early on day one of our trip. We didn't have a lot planned for the day but we actually felt pretty fresh and alert despite not really getting any sleep the night before. Trip adrenaline is a wonderful thing I suppose.
We recently went on vacation to the Azores islands of Portugal. I've been trying to decide on how to structure my posts about the trip and have now decided that I'll start with a high level post on a specific island that we visited and then follow that up later with a more in depth look at the specific destination or activity at that location. Today I'll start with an overview of the Azores and our first stop at Sao Miguel.
Welcome back to #Beersaturday! I'm talking to myself, by the way. Is it weird to welcome yourself back to something?I was away for a bit on vacation but I'm happy to be home again and I'm ready to review a few beers for you - or me depending on how you look at it. This week I'm going to discuss a dark Stout and a golden Lager. Let's check them out shall we!
Niagara on the Lake is a small town in the province of Ontario Canada and certainly among the nicest small towns to visit in the province. It's also just a stones throw away from the border of the United States. Nestled in the heart of wine country it's situated along on the water of Lake Ontario and the Niagara River.
It's been a minute since I last posted a random life update. Today is the day though. Here are a few mundane things that I've been up to the past month or so. Let's have a looksee. I'll begin with a few books that I've read starting with a novella called "A Short Stay in Hell" by Steven L. Peck. This was recommended to me by my wife. It was a quick read but an incredibly impactful one. This book is actually one that will stay with me for a very long time, maybe even the rest of my life I think. It got me thinking about a lot of different things in a way that hasn't happened since, probably I was a child or teenager.
Today I'm going to do a quick post on a DIY project that I completed recently with my dad. We built some cedar planter boxes for our balcony to replace some old ones that we had to toss. It took me about three days over two weekends to complete the project. Lets see what I did shall we.
