Hello photography lovers. As you may have gathered from one or two of my previous posts, I have long since had a fascination with windows and doors. An attraction may be a better way to describe it. I find that both can have a lot of character and charm, which makes them a really good subject to photograph.
This is a good time of year for beer. I know, you're like, "but Leaky, every time is a good time for beer!" You might be right about that but this is a particularly good time because a lot of Breweries start creating dark beers and stouts and spicy seasonal brews that make their way to the store to be purchased by people like me. I always see a lot of new beers in store in those styles along with a few past favorites of mine.
This might be a short one for this week's #Beersaturday. I was pretty sick this week with some sort of bug that I no doubt picked up at the hospital I work at. It's the season after all. Lots of covid, and lots of Rhino virus going around. I drank the beer in this post last weekend and haven't had another beer since as of yet. Nonetheless, let me tell you about this beauty from Wellington Brewery. It was a gem.
Well, bad news for us, our Breville espresso machine died. We actually started having issues with it soon after purchasing it. About eight months in we noticed some condensation in the face dial. We contacted Breville customer service and they said that they would send us a shipping label to ship the appliance to them to have it serviced. The shipping label never came though and the issue was intermittent so we let it go, hoping that the problem would just go away. I wish that we would have pursued the fix further at the time because a few months later we started to notice a drip-dripping from the face of the machine in roughly the same location. It wasn't every day but periodically. We ignored that too. The death nail came when the machine started to short out and flip the breaker on the GFCI outlet that it's plugged into. It did it twice and we took that as a sign that it's basically done for. I don't want a fire starting over this thing. We have only had the appliance for two years so the whole situation is really disappointing and frustrating to say the least. I don't think that I'll be buying another Breville product again thats for certain.
Michelin has finally come to Canada, or at least to Ontario. To be honest, I don't know about other provinces in the country. Maybe they have had Michelin starred restaurants for some time now - Who knows? In the last few years though, some of the restaurants in my province have finally started to receive Michelin Stars, including a few near me. Some restaurants have already lost their stars as well after having them for only one year. But that's a different story. For this post I'm going to share a Michelin Star restaurant experience that we enjoyed a few weeks back. Here we go!
Its #Beersaturday and I'm back in it, with two more beers to review for this week's challenge. Let's take a look at what's brewing. That was a bad pun, but what-evs.Pompous AssBrewery: Great Lakes Brewery Origin: Etobicoke ON, Canada Style: English Style Ale Abv: 4.2% IBU: Unknown SRM: Unknown
