Place of many WatersWhat is homeschooling like in an Australian Indigenous Community named Kowanyama... which translates to: Place of many WatersWhite and yellow plumes of sulphur-crested cockatoos greet our small 12 seater plane as it glides into the aboriginal community of Kowanyama where the air is smelling thick and pungent of the thousands of bats hanging in the mango trees. The noise of the cockatoos is incredibly delightful yet ear shattering.

Natural play surfaces are sometimes difficult to find in cities, so when a beautiful fig tree is utilised as a playground for the children it's super special. This particular tree house is build in, around, and through a massive fig tree. Branches, limbs, and parts of the trunk weave gracefully through this amazing play experience.... and it's built to withstand the pounding of adults too.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is causing havoc online and possibly within our homeschooling journey... regardless of whether you are aware of it or not. So I decided to ask AI some basic questions about how some homeschooling kids might feel and this is how AI responded.

What does your classroom look like? Bright and bubbly, or boring and drab.(C) The environment we live, or work in, usually determines the outcome of what we're trying to achieve.I believe our children’s academic standards often depend on their surroundings. Moods, feelings, ideas, attitudes, love, respect and achievements stem from how we interact with these surroundings. Just like our work environment is important to us adults, children need their work, or study environment spruced up too.

Do online, brain challenging games make us smarter? I believe these games do the opposite as I discovered after I did a 3 month self test.Screenshot (c) Oakever GamesThe game creators claim it increases your brain power, quicker thinking skills and designed for the smartest brains. It's supposedly incredibly challenging too so I didn't play my usual scrabble game with my partner for three months but played this game on my mobile phone instead. After a few weeks my eyes saw words faster, my fingers swiped quicker and my brain was computing three and four letter words in my sleep causing restlessness and feeling more tired by the day.

Making a paper gun was one of the highlights when I worked as a Governess on an Australian Outback Station. Children of Stations don't go to traditional school but either do School Of The Air, or they are taught by mum or their Governess (Govie).
