Due to the curious nature of man's best friend which is the dog, they always keep their nose to the ground and such acts could cause harmful effects to them, insects like wasps, bees, and hornets. Any pet can get affected by the stings, but it is more common with dogs.

To continue the interesting theme I started a few days ago, speaking on how insects can affect our pets, and for today's topic, I will be picking flies and analyzing if they hurt our pets or not. Flies are winged insects that belong to a large, complex order of insects called Diptera. There are different types of flies and they are different in terms of development, habitats, size, and even their preference for food. An adult fly for instance, may prefer to feed on saliva, blood, mucus, and tears. Flies are more than just an annoyance we want to get rid of, they can also spread diseases and problems in our pets.

In the last post I wrote, I talked about how cockroaches affect our pets, but after that, I decided to dig a bit further into the effects other insects may have and then, I decided to write further on other insects that may have an impact on our pets even if they are indoors.

Almost every household in Nigeria has cockroaches, I may not be so sure about the wealthy homes, but I am quite certain about the normal homes around here. A lot of people have to look for alternative methods of putting these cockroaches from their homes while others just choose to live with them.
