i checked into Hive this morning and i noticed the new prompt before we left the house. we had some errands to do in Larvik so i knew just where to go for this theme. at the mouth of Farris River there is a shopping center with restaurants, bars, cafes, offices on the lower levels and and residential flats above with great views of the Larviksfjord, harbor and city. after we finished our shopping there we crossed the footbridge to the cultural center called Bølgen, the Wave.

please join hindavi and i on our walk to Lillevik Beach on the far eastern end of the beach there's a nice rocky point for fishing or just relaxing. the water that side is deeper than the rest of the beach the beach itself is very shallow and safe so in the summer it is popular with families with small children.

earlier today i was out walking on Lillevik Beach, the one with with all the driftwood. to my dismay a tractor had been there and moved all the logs and boards off the beach and into the edge of the forest. there were deep tracks in the sand and i wondered how it had accessed the beach as there is no road and the trail i take is wide enough but there were no tracks.

you may have forgetten but when you went to school you must have learned that penguins live in the antarctic region but not in the arctic. but you probably were never told the reason why that is so. well i'm here to tell you that what you have learned (and perhaps forgotten) is not true. here in Norway we see commonly penguins parading on the street and especially in schoolyards. but since this is a shadow hunter community and not feathered friends i shall focus solely on the shadows of the parading penguins and not the peculiar birds themselves.

this is my contribution to #FungiFriday by @ewkawit's been so dry here that fungi are few and far between these days. spring time is not the best time of year in general for finding fun fungi and this year has been particularly fruitless so far.
