sometimes reflections are more about moods than anything else the sun was in and out of the clouds shifting in the wind the mood seemed to be shifting with them ) another day on the rocky seashore. this time the wind was fresh so getting those bright colorful mirrors on the water was out of the question

Minnehallen, The Seamen's Memorial Hall is a pyramid on the coast just outside of Stavern proper. it commemorates all who lost their lives at sea in Norwegian waters during the First and the Second World War regardless of nationality. inside are works of art and plaques of all the names of those who perished and the ships they were aboard. being surrounded by all the names of the lives lost is a somber affair

here are a pair of reflections taken while travelling in Norway. the first is on a bus from Drammen to Hønefoss through a snowy landscape. it's not your typical beautiful mirror of some natural scene. the snow, sky and trees are not reflections at all, they are the real deal. but superimposed on the landscape is the subtle reflection of a passenger as well as some unclear spots from the interior of the bus. travelling on a bus or train for more than a short distance often gives the opportunity for relaxing, taking in the landscape and reflecting on various facets of life and reality. while admittedly the reflection in the window is not the dominant aspect of this photo nonetheless i feel it captures the mood of travelling, of passing through, whether it be a landscape scene or more abstractly, life in general

) folks, i've been collecting shadows for quite a long time now and it has always been a pleasure. but as i get older i have started to notice their weight more and more and how they are slowing me down. recently sometimes it feels like they are devouring me and i'm disappearing in them. i can't carry so many around with me all the time anymore so i have decided to put some of them down. it's sad to let them go...

in front of the impressively grand parliament in Budapest there is a reflecting pool. but there was too much motion in the water to create mirror like reflections. my wife and i took turns figuring out the best angles for nice reflections but we were not alone on the plaza

the main element in our garden is coconuts. they do well in the pure sand we have for soil and they continuously produce throughout the year regardless of season. one of the biggest benefits of having a garden here in the tropics is that there is always something in season. from our trees we get sapotas or ckickoos year round in addition to coconuts. on the other hand, the cashew and mango trees bear only once per year.
