Today I racked up 21,181 steps, though honestly, I didn’t even think about it while it was happening.
I was up and moving around the garden plot since morning, and there was always something that needed doing. I had to add some landscape fabric near the pool so the kids wouldn’t track grass into the water – sounds like a small thing, but anyone who’s ever had a pool and kids knows it’s a better investment than any chemical treatment. The whole day just slipped by without much of a break – always something: a rake, a garden hose, or the lawn mower calling for attention.
At some point during the day, my wife and I went for a walk around Brochów, just to stretch our legs a bit and escape the garden rhythm. On the way, we stopped by our favorite local bakery near Majątkowy Park and picked up some cake for the kids – a small gesture, but one that brings a lot of joy. I like that place; it has something nostalgic about it, it smells like memories and good coffee. When we got back, we spent some time playing with the kids, kicked the ball around a bit, goofed off for a while, and then it was back to work – this time mowing the lawn, because if not today, next week it’ll be a jungle.
