Yesterday afternoon, @clareartista and I drove back from our house ( for sale ) in the campania region to our land with temporary house-like building and the tent that we sleep in, most nights.
It was very warm during the drive, the warmest day of the year so far. So warm in fact that it felt like high summer ( for us Northern Europeans ).
I knew that there was another brief shift in weather predicted and we soon found out about that in the night...
Rain started dripping down on our tent ( waterproof, unlike our house-like building ) and I decided to get out of bed and check on the house itself. I decided to drape a big sheet of plastic over two tables in the area where it leaks the most during (semi) heavy rain and then went back to bed.
During the night and morning, I kept waking up over and over again. And so did Clare, as the rain kept intensifying or starting again. Every cloud brought a new surprise.
In the end, it really wasn't too bad but - as per usual these days - it rained a lot more than predicted. It seems like you can't trust the forecast these days and it's hard to not hear the sound of raindrops on the canvas of a tent, just above your head.
This morning, I finally managed to crawl out of the tent around 8:30. Clare had gotten up two hours before me and I kept falling asleep afterwards while the rain kept doing its thing outside. I was still exhausted from 5 days in the city and a handful of not very restful nights.
Clare had texted me from the house, around 8:25, to inform me that she was frying rice and if I wanted to join her for breakfast.
How could I say no to that?
So I dressed up in yesterday's summer clothes, dried the rain from my flipflops ( they had spent the night in front of the tent ) and made my way towards the house.
Upon my arrival, Clare had a pleasant surprise for me. Not only had she tidied up and made us a yummy breakfast, she pointed to the powerbank, with my phone plugged in and charging.
FYI: It had been in hibernation mode for a week, not wanting to give a sign of life at all. Something thas has happened over and over again in the last year and a half.
I am in the process of getting another phone ( as mentioned in my previous post ) but still guessed that my old phone would come around, once again. And so it did :<)
Anyhow, a lot has happened in the last 10 days, since I last posted on here, but I need to get back into writing mode and could really use some more ZEN-time on our land, working in our garden, to wrap my head around things. And then, once I've done so, I will see what I will share with you guys.
Right now, the sky is opening a little bit outside. Most of the rain seems have fallen but the remainder of today - and tomorrow - are expected to be cool for the time of the year.
Very nice and definitely much needed for our land, after plenty of dry weather so far this Spring.
If I have to believe the weather forecast ( for the next two weeks ) it is going to be plenty dry and warm again very very soon. So I am trying to relish every bit of cooler, more humid weather and I am sure nature will feel the same.
I hope you enjoy your day, wherever you are.
Sending love from Molise, Italia!
