phew: 2 years of sewing, 2 months of intensive prepping, and 2 days of setting up - McMA pop-up shop is open!the opening night dress, made from nighties, tablecoths, shirts and aprons! When did we stop wearing meaningful (and magical) clothing? Probably when we gave our responsability-for-second-skin to the machines, the chemicals and the slave labour.
Dearest Needleworking Friends & Lovers Of Original Sewing Creations!Full immersion: leading up to the (pop-up clothing store) event on Friday – and the House Crawl that we have the very next day; a merry trail of the many stranieri of Guardia Sanframondi (and perhaps a couple of local randaggi), who bumble from one home to another in the medieval quarter, snacking and drinking, and ooohing and aaahing over how we have brought out the character of our magical homes.
shamelessly unironed!Dearest Needleworking Hive! This is the (unfinished) showstopper – part one; I began a complex alteration/ adaptation of it, yesterday – after a great feedback talk with @vincentnijman , which helped immensely in my realising what was not sitting well (yet!)…
Dearest Hive Needleworkers and Clothing Enthusiasts! This has been the most favoloso week of sewing in Atelier McMA, as we get closer to the date of the expo of my new ‘collection’: the mastery is slowing manifesting, the labels are being sewn into necklines and waists, and the rack is piling up with new items that I have completed!
Dearest Needleworkers and Friends on Hive!Ahhh, this has been such a breakthrough week!! @vincentnijman and I have had some progress – possibly myself more – in our Masterpeace remedy adventures, and my work in the McMA atelier has come along very nicely… Checking out my visit a few days ago to the Artemis gallery, where I could map out some ideas about our imminent expo there…. It helped me simplify everything, which in turn helped clear my mind completely and focus on the goal of showing my clothing to a larger public for the first time!
Dearest Needlework Community and Creative Hive Friends! My blog this week is about Finishing: I am working harder at completing garments that I have begun, and at breaking through the stickiest points in their making – like when it all begins to feel impossibly clunky and ugly!
