Stepping Out Of The Norm

Yesterday a lot of things were closed and schools given a snow day, because of a risk of freezing rain and ice. I could easily tell that there was no risk despite everyone in online groups claiming it is better safe than sorry etc. The temperatures and amounts of rain were just not right for it.

This did free up time and I decided to talk a walk to the Chedoke golf course in the west end of Hamilton Ont. I have explored a long abandoned ski lift building that sits in the middle of the course, several times. But a friend told me he had found another building that may have been part of the winter park as well.

I hit the path and quickly found the building he had told me about.

The metal barn structure was fairly decayed and has welded shut doors, so access wasn't happening. Is it abandoned? By the looks of it, probably. Was it part of the winter park? No evidence of that yet.

Instead of packing it in, I saw the ski lift building across a field and figured I could spin steel wool or something inside of it.

Once inside it became very clear that it was too bright for steel wool or any real light painting, so I did a few of what I could with lights.

It was good to check that new building and have fun in the ski lift building! "Stepping out of the norm" of just listening to false weather reports and staying inside.
