Hii my dear Hive Friends! I know it has been quite a while since I wrote my last post. I have been so busy making memories but so little time to share them.
My last post was written from Spain. I crossed Portugal, Italy, Albania, Greece and Turkey in the time I have been mostly absent, only quietly checking in on people now and then. But today, I am writing again from Cyprus!
Life lately: Vanlife-Days on Cyprus
---
---
After some very busy travel weeks with amazing people in Turkey, sleeping in a cave, drinking too much alcohol, sleeping too little and making too many memories, the slow island life was calling me. Reading a book, baking pancakes: Just slow life & sunny days. So today, I will take you with me to Cyprus!
As prepared as I was, I found out that people in Cyprus drive at the left side of the road only one day before going there, had the most confusing ferry ride (all foreigners felt a bit lost), had to pay my traffic fine for overspeeding in Turkey (2,84, my first ever traffic fine for overspeeding), I boarded the ferry, ready for the Island!!

Today I will give you a little impression of my life in Cyprus lately. Cyprus is an amazing wild-camp place as there are no strict camping laws since there are not many vanlifers. It makes it easier to find really good places, but the disadvantage is that I will never find such a good ''Vanlife Village'' as our camp with @vindiesel1980 & our friends who are not on Hive (soooo many stories I should still share)
People say the first cup of coffee in the morning is the best, But I prefer to drink them on a cliff with sea view. Cheers from my backyard!! This is surely the biggest advantage of vanlife
Hello sweet sweet visitor! I travel with cat food to feed the strays, and it's a good way to make new friends :)

The slow-life was what I was craving for: Baking pancakes in beautiful places, reading a book. Just simple life.
Sunsets are better at the island
I believe normal people will never understand how nice it is to just be able to take an outdoor shower after skipping the shower for a day or a few to many Outside, sun, sea. It is just the beautiful simplicity I love in life
After the freezing cold in Turkey, I appreciated it more than ever to be back in a sunny place. The sun gives us Vanlifers energy. Litteraly, well, at least if we keep the panels clean

Places like this, directly by the sea <3

Wasting days in laundry shops. I actually love ''wasting time'' laundry shops. A moment to do nothing and just chill
I met a farmer who gave me some dragon fruits from his garden. I didn't even know that they grew here in Europe. I love all the tropical fruits here (even though the country isn't tropical). They grow Banana's, Avocado's and apparently dragon fruits!
I believe Cyprus is one of the easier places to connect to people. The surf community is very cool and social here at the surf beaches, they have a German community with a monthly barbeque I joined, there are a lot of expats and people seem to speak english very well. Everyone is very friendly. I feel very much at home here. And after all, I am home, in my home on wheels.
Thank you for reading my blog & I hope you enjoyed getting some little insights in the simple Vanlife days here on Cyprus!!
Regards,.
Sascha
