[EN]The world has changed. When I was a child, no one imagined there would ever be a real possibility to modify a baby’s genes even before they were born. It seemed like something out of a science fiction movie, the kind I watched thinking it was way too far-fetched to become real. But little by little, fiction turned into possibility, and now here we are. People talking about choosing their children’s talents, looks, health, and even personality before they utter their first cry.

[EN]This week, I took advantage of the theme from @Qurator's Photo Quest — “Glass” — to explore my creativity a bit more and play around with some glasses I have at home. I decided to experiment with light, shadows, and colors, aiming to highlight the curves, transparencies, and reflections that only glass can offer.

[EN]As a journalist, I spend a great deal of time observing and reporting on human behavior, trying to understand why we do what we do and how our choices affect society. I often come across cases where the law seems not to keep up with morality or ethics, or, on the contrary, where it imposes itself so strongly that it ends up limiting personal freedoms that, at first glance, would not harm anyone.

[EN]Well, to be honest… I even forgot what I was writing here! Jokes aside, forgetting important things is just part of life, right? And unfortunately, I’ve already gone through a situation like that… I think everyone has.

[EN]Today I took advantage of a rare moment alone at home to make a little noise… or at least try! I picked up the guitar, as I sometimes do, and gave a few chords a shot — nothing too elaborate, especially when it involves barre chords, which are still my biggest nightmare. I must confess, I don’t really know how to play, but the desire to learn always shows up, even though I haven’t yet managed to find the patience and discipline I need to truly dedicate myself the way I’d like to.

[EN]Today Juiz de Fora — the city where I was born, spent a good part of my life, and where I’ve returned to live — celebrates its anniversary, and I wanted to mark this day with a photo I took downtown, on an ordinary late afternoon, when the light hits the buildings in such a beautiful way and everything feels calmer, even amidst the daily rush. It’s funny how we often hurry through these places and don’t always realize how much they are part of our story, our routine, our memories.
