The (Brain) Fog is Clearing - Sunshine after Rain

By @vincentnijman1/26/2026hive-196233

After a number of depressing, humid, grey, rainy days, with hardly any sunshine, I managed to briefly get a couple of sunrays on my face whilst on a walk, yesterday afternoon...

I didn't manage to catch them on camera though.

This morning, @clareartista got out of bed first ( if I don't include our nightly peeing sessions which seem to have increased, due to being back on Masterpeace; detoxing from heavy metals, microplastics etc. ). She opened the window, marveled at what she saw and took this picture of the view...

Throughout the morning ( that is still ongoing ), I have been taking photos of the pretty spectacular sights, as seen from different windows and the balcony here.

The clouds have been pretty impressive. And with the sun growing 'stronger', plenty of humidity kept rising up, forming new layers of clouds, over and over again.

I was lucky to manage to 'catch' these pigeons on camera...

They look beautiful, in flight. In fact, I thought they were flying away from me, towards the pino maritimo that can be seen at the right, but they ended up circling around it and coming back towards me...

These flying rats, no matter how intelligent they are, are a bit of a problem in this town. They dirty the streets with their poop and add to the abundance of dog poo.

In all honesty, it's not the pidgeons nor necessarily the dog's fault. It is the commune that doesn't prioritize cleaning the streets and the dog's owners who are not cleaning up after their dogs. All of the aforementioned, plus the numerous semi-stray dogs living in the streets and being fed by numerous people, including the butcher. These canines know where to find their food and they sure know how to poop.

Italy is very beautiful but also quite dirty, in many ways.

The sky opening up makes a bit of a difference though...

This balcony isn't the worst to sit on and that is an understatement.

and I'm not the only one enjoying the bit of warmth.

even though Clare hasn't taken her winter hat off yet.

*More on Clare's current slow fashion project, depicted on the above photo, can be found in her latest Needlework Monday post: New Inspiration in the Midst of Hardship *

It's not just us, feeling good on the balcony, the washing seems to be pretty happy too.

Which reminds me of the following joke/riddle:

What gets wetter when it dries?

Scroll down to the end of this post to find the answer.

Meanwhile it's getting a bit chilly, once again, as Clare just remarked. We haven't had the last bit of rain yet ( today ), it seems.

No matter what, there's always sunshine after rain and sometimes even before it.

Let's not forget about the sun(nier things in life ).

TO BE CONVINUED...

A (tea) towel.
