Good day dear mates! So calendar spring came to us at previous weekend and it happen so that this day coincides with a Shrovetide holiday or Maslenitsa. And that's why me and my family decided to visit local festive where local artistic groups were presented. At first half of the day the weather was sunny and even snow which fall at night time started to melt. There were various contests and competitions for guests and visitors. Amusement rides were set up for children and teenagers. But let's go through it all in order.

At the entrance to the festive square, guests were greeted and served pancakes with sour cream, condensed milk, hot tea and honey.
In addition, warm sbiten cooked on the fire and kvass were served for treating the guests. Also it was possible to buy bbq and cakes for currency.

A stage was set up in the main area where artists and amateur performances took place.
In addition to the performance of artists at the stage, animators led round dances with children and guests of the holiday. And next to it there were tug-of-war competitions among children and adults, as well as competitions to see who could cut a log with a two-handed saw faster.

Separately, I would like to emphasize the competition in which it was necessary to climb to the top of a vertically installed pole and rip off the ribbon with the number. Each number on the tape had its own prize. This competition was not divided into age groups and both adults and children took part in it.

Horseback riding, sleigh rides and camel rides were organized for animal lovers and relaxed vacationers.
However, in the afternoon the weather began to deteriorate and clouds covered the sky. At the same time a little rain began to fall. And almost after three hours all snow melted and instead of sunny day we got grey sky, old grass and trees. However, the burning of the Shrovetide scarecrow was planned for the second half of the day, when all the contests were completed, prizes were awarded to the participants, and the guests were fed with pancakes and treats.
According to traditions and beliefs, the burning of the Pancake effigy symbolizes the end of winter and the arrival of spring.
Therefore, at the end of the day all the guests gathered in the glade located a little away from the main festival site to watch it.
At the end, only a memory remained of the scarecrow, just like the snow that had melted in a few hours.

After the completion of all the activities, a little tired, but with the baggage of new impressions, we all headed home, where a delicious dinner was waiting for us in the evening. But that's another story.
That's all for now. Stay tuned! Yours @travoved
