Weekend trip to Pinos del Valle Spain

Weekend trip last weekend

At the end of last year, I decided to book a two night stay at a cute home in Pinos del Valle to explore that area. We always drive past there when we visit our friend in Granada and got curious what's on the other side of the mountains besides that huge lake we always see.
Our friend also booked the other appartment to take his lady as well as her daughter. We were hoping to use the barbecue available because who doesn't love a good barbecue meal? We all do, right? When the date came closer and Spain was overflooded with rain in many areas I got a bit nervous about ending up sitting inside for two days in the middle of nowhere. My mood was already not at its best so I even felt like cancelling alltogether at some point.
That would have been stupid though because often rain is a false promise here and weather forecasts are often saying it will rain and then we see 10 drops in total. All we could do was hope for the best, because we could all use a little break from the normal routine.
And so the date arrived and the forecast was ok-ish, with some part of Saturday filled with sun instead of rain. Things were looking much better and I was excited to go again!

A little too much

Even though I haven't had back pain in this matter for months, the day of departure I was aching so badly by the last hour we were at home. I had to stop doing whatever I was doing and sadly my boyfriend had to assist with the final cleaning tasks before departure rather than hopping in the car and leave.
It was a bummer to have so much pain again, as it always means that my body feels like I've been hit by a truck and my mood is definitely not uplifting when it happens. I forgot a few things I specially bought for the trip because my brain was refusing to work with me, lol.
The worst thing was that by the time it was evening I didn't want anything, the rest wanted to meet up and all I wanted was a quiet evening and not be alone because it was the first evening there. I ended up making us hamd and cheese toast for dinner instead of the spaghetti cabonara as I planned. At least we ate, haha.

The next morning

In the end the pain faded and we had some good chats that evening so that made up for the few hours of grumpiness and pain for me. We both slept very well and were woken up by stumbling upstairs. The apartment had the bedrooms and bathroom downstairs and the living and kitchen upstairs.. It turned out our daughter felt inspired and decided to paint the apartment where our friends were staying as early as 8 am that morning.
I was pleased to see she was being creative right after waking up, she got that set for her birthday and seems to love it a lot.
And here's the apartment from her inspiration:
The continued the painting at home, but yet has to finish a few parts, this is how it looks right now:
This was a lovely spot to sit and chill but also just take in the view:

The rest of the Saturday

Was filled with good company, lots of sun and good food but I will share that in another post because I still have to sort the many pictures I took that day.
If you're ever in the area of the Lecrin Valley in Spain, I'd definitely recommend to explore the area there, it doesn't have to be in Pinos del Valle btw, but there are plenty little surrounding towns which you could explore.
Have you ever visited this area?

All pictures above are my own...
