Dutch food traditionsAs a Dutchie, I may be most nostalgic about some typical Dutch food over other things. Living abroad since 2016 means that there are many typical Dutch foods that I didn't eat for 8,5 years now but of course there are things that I've managed to buy either in Budapest or later here in Spain by finding out about shops selling typical products from other countries. In Budapest for example, I learned that they did sell "hagelslag" the typical Dutch chocolate sprinkles we eat for breakfast or lunch on our bread by just going to the baking department. Sadly it was usually sold in small packages, not ideal for breat toppings but it helped keeping the cravings in check.

Christmas giftsI find it harder and harder to decide on what to gift the family for Christmas. I mean, I'm reluctant to gifting our daughter another batch of toys that dissappear in a box without looking at it for another long period of time. And I'm definitely not keen on adding much plastic to the toy collection, I rather focus on things that are useful and unlock some creative flows instead.

Merry Christmas!I'm quite late as it's already Christmas eve, sending out the digital Christmas wish this year but in this case it just means that I was way too busy with other things. Let's say I'm late for the good cause. Even with all the preparation I did buying gifts for the little one with enough time ahead, I still managed to have "Santa's Elf" duties this afternoon because I didn't pack all gifts yet and realised I also had to add some funny rhymes as well.

Bermuda buttercupSpontaneous ideas are the bestAlthough my boyfriend was supposed to have a full week holidays between this weekend until the end of the year, he realized he still has quite some tasks to finish which would mean he needed to rush things this week. On top of that, there was no way we were going to book an overnight stay somewhere with these rediculous prices everywhere so it would mean daytrips all the week only. And resting of course!

Twelve days of ChristmasThe initiative kickstarted by @silverd510 and followed by many community members to display their desired coins for this year's secret Santa (and after). I'm using it not just to show which items I'd love to receive as a gift to at least help out my secret Santa to find out what it is that I truly desire (inserts the voice of Tom Ellis from the series Lucifer here) but also to have my own little list to focus on once the new year starts.
