Coffee and tea

Lately I have been seriously cutting down on my coffee intake for several reasons and I even started to add digestive tea to my routine! I have always hated (sorry tea lovers) tea because I never tasted any tea that I liked in my life and I'm just more of a coffee lady, lol.
But some weeks ago when I was ill for 9 or 10 days in total, I had this horrible cough the final days and I really didn't want to sponsor another product from big pharma and decided it was time to just suck it up and get some tea with honey instead. So I did. The best thing was that I didn't even dislike the taste that much during the ill days, lol. But it helped me so badly not to cough and calm down my throat! I also learned that it really helps me with my stool which was an issue lately, and I could stop drinking the expensive solution from the pharmacy because of starting this tea!

These headaches again!

I decided to try and drink it once a day, some days I skip it but it's going quite well actually. I still don't drink more than 1, with some days the exception of 2, coffee a day to keep my caffeine intake low. I've been dealing with a serious round of headaches for two weeks straight, every single day I woke up with a headache that usually lasted all day. Very annoying, my blood pressure was not too high so it wasn't related to that and that makes me suspect it was caused by the lowering of my caffeine intake. I can remember clearly what happened after I stopped drinking coffee fully back in Budapest, two weeks straight of even worse headaches followed, anyway, on Monday morning I woke up without the headache so I may be passed this now, fingers crossed!

Weekend away

We went for a 2 night trip to another region in Granada last weekend and even though I read they had a coffee maker, I didn't think we'd drink any coffee during the weekend because we have a cups machine at home and I wasn't planning on buying beans for a two night stay. Upon arrival I learned they had the coffee maker and fresh beans plus a grinder, but as we didn't bring creamer and found out after going to the supermarket, we decided we'd go for breakfast the next morning and just have a coffee there. Breakfast is very cheap here in Spain anyway so that wasn't a big issue.

The only bar

We had one bar in the village but I read recommendations about the toasts they serve, so we took the easy route and headed there for breakfast on Saturday. The weather was absolutely lovely while a lot of rain was predicted for the full 2 days of our stay. We had a toast each, my boyfriend had the tuna and avocado toast with tomato base and I had it without tomatoes as I don't love it that much.
I won't lie, I have no clue why this was the case but these toasts they served were 10x better than we get here close to home. And the best part was that my boyfriend usually gets a bit of stomach issues afterwards, sometimes more than others, while both times eating it here, he had 0 troubles. It must have been the bread they used, at least that's my guess.
We stayed there for two hours because we had the most amazing view on the mountains and valley while feeling the sun on our faces. Meanwhile we asked our friends about their plans and hoped we could explore the area a bit more later, so we headed back to our apartment around 11 to meet up with them.

The coffee

We both order coffee with milk, not the sweet liquid milk that comes from these bottles but fresh frothed milk please! I'm often not that happy with coffee in bars compared to my own coffee so usually (when close to home) I skip drinking coffee in a bar but as we didn't have our own coffee machine and no milk that weekend, I tried the coffee and it was another brand for sure, it was lovely!
I should have asked their brand or check it inside but I forgot to do so in the end. We both drank a second cup which says a lot.

Cash only!

Upon paying I realized I should have probably checked if they accepted card but as the tiny supermarket in the villag even had card payment for option, I didn't think the only bar would not have it. My boyfriend didn't bring his wallet and I only had 25 euros cash with me so when I had had to pay almost 20 euros, I was relieved that at least I could pay. Otherwise I would have had to send my boyfriend to the apartment to get his wallet, so it wasn't that big of a deal but it's been a while since I came across a place without card payments.

These little things

These moments where we have a simple toast together, somewhere in the sun and enjoying an amazing view is when I feel so extremely grateful to live here in beautiful Spain. It wasn't just the area where I experience this, I also have this here close to home, even though our area isn't that pretty, well except from our view, that's stunning and always makes me realize that we actually live here and how much I grateful I am for that.
We are definitely still not where we want to be and had some serious delays in our plans to save on taxes due to bureacratic paperwork nightmares that I couldn't get through at first but since that's behind us, slowly I'm seeing how this year will be much better in terms of savings as well as how we can look back on another year of growth in our lives.
And with that, I'll end this already long post today.. Thanks for stopping by!
