The following week, as she was leaving her high school for recess, she bumped into a young woman in her third grade. “Sorry, I didn't mean to,", Flor added. Very cheerful, the teenager replied, “Excuse me, my name is Claudia.” Then, holding hands, they sat under the shade of a loquat tree. There they chatted until the bell rang to let them in. “See you tomorrow, here we go,” Claudia said happily. Flor replied, “I'll see you tomorrow.” Those moments were frequent.
Titi: “I don’t understand, Yemi. Why are you hell-bent on marrying Kola? I get it, you love him, but marrying a man with nothing is a big deal.”
You: “I get your concerns, Titi, but Kola has potential. He just has multiple fails right now, he will pick up.”
Titi: “A family can’t survive on potential, Yemi.”

She was dressed in a wine gown and looked like she was going to a party.
"Yes, it's your cake but," I turned to look at Aminat.
"It wasn't me. I didn't let the cat out of the bag," She replied.
"Oh, it seems I ruined something special right?" Bimbo asked.

My tension rose, again. I sat quietly for some time and didn't know what to say.
She smiled and shook her head, “You are in love with me right?”
I shivered, “who told you?” I asked, looking at her with my mouth agape.
“Is that it or not?” She asked.

So I went with the second option: I kept going down, carefully avoiding putting too much weight on the injured foot. The pain slowly subsided, and I took advantage of the adrenaline, along with an ibuprofen to ease the discomfort. The heat was punishing, even in the Ávila. Not a breeze in sight. I can’t say it was easy. I moved fast—pretty sure I set a personal record, honestly. I even took route 77, which is way longer than Dos Banderas, but I knew if I went down the latter, my ankle wouldn’t hold up.

The touts scrambled into action-returning over-collected money, apologizing to the drivers, clearing the blocked lanes, and even sweeping the dusty park floor. All the drivers were rejoicing in praises of Blade.
Blade pulls out a cigarette but doesn’t light it. He just rolls it between his fingers, eyes steady.
“Let this be the last time I come back to noise… when I left behind peace.”
Then he turns and walks away without looking back.
