My Week in Review for March 8, 2025

It's been a bit of an interesting week in the world of cryptocurrency. This chart from coingecko.com of BTC prices over the last seven day almost tells the story better than anyone can in words:

To think it wasn't all that long ago BTC was over $100K, I hope those days will be returning soon. But, they may not... The United States appears that they will form a Bitcoin reserve which should be very bullish for not only BTC buy crypto in general. It appears that people all bought on the rumors and sold on the news, which is the norm for any investment.

The question is now, what's next? I wish I knew...

Now time for my week's review here on Hive and my current thoughts and investment strategy. Keep in mind I'm not a financial advisor and these may just be the ramblings of a mad man!

My primary goal this year is to reach a total Hive Power of 10,000. This past couple weeks and I haven't posted as much as real life sometimes takes precedence. I have increased my HP by 69 this week and currently have 7,069 staked Hive Power. I'll likely need to convert more HBD to Hive this year to get myself closer to that 10K line. I'm confident I'll make it still, just not as soon as I had hoped!

Currently I am 70.7% of the way there, slowly but surely!

This year my secondary goal is to reach 50K staked PIMP. As of this morning I have 36,557 PIMP, I am at 73% of the final goal. I want to buy my way up to 50K sooner than later, so I may make a large push in the coming weeks! I picked up some this week but not a real big buy. I'm waiting for the right price to pick up larger amounts. I do still earn some from my posts and from tips in the meantime.

This is the only token that is backed by physical silver here on Hive, and backed by Bitcoin as well. There aren't too many tokens backed up by actual assets.

I increased my holdings to 507K staked CCD right now. A new program was announced this past week that involves HSBI. Those who stake one million CCD can get an HSBI for free every day. For those who stake 500K, like I have, can get a free HSBI twice a week. If you have 100K CCD staked you can get a free one once a month. Free HSBI are never a bad thing as they give you curations on your published posts depending on how many you have.

CCD also has a burn for curation program, where you can burn some tokens to get a curation. However, it really is dependent on how many you have staked or how much HP you delegate. There is a priority percentage scale and those highest usually get curated, once the mana gets too low the votes stop and the tokens returned to you if you aren't curated. I recommend holding at least 500K to take advantage of this perk!

GIFU is still one my list and I'm continuing to increase my holdings of the token. I'm up to 102,401 GIFU currently. It's a deflationary token that exists one the Binance Chain and as SWAP.GIFU here on Hive Engine. It's still relatively cheap and I expect it will slowly get more expensive as more tokens are burned on a regular basis.

A couple other fun notes, it does offer curations if you hold over 50K and a tipping bot at one million. I do love tipping bots, so I may push my way up toward one million over the next couple of months. I do however have some other tokens higher in line though, so it may take awhile.

My goal this year is to reach 200 EDSI, I picked up one this week and I have a buy order in for another and waiting for it to be filled. I have just over 114 right now, so 56.8% completed in the goal. As long as I pick up a couple a week I should make it by year's end.

What I like about it is it offers weekly Hive dividends and curations on your posts which is a nice bonus.

Time to shill my favorite token of them all, DUO! I helped create this one and I'm rather proud of it. Together with @bitcoinman , @bitcoinman and myself we created DUO to fill a need we saw here on Hive. The goal is to stack up enough Hive Power to delegate a portion to help onboard and retain new quality members that are here to build accounts on Hive.

Our investors receive the most benefits from the token in the form of daily Hive dividends and daily curations on your quality content. 90% off all HP earned from curation is paid to the those who stake 200 or more tokens in the form of daily dividends and curations. The remaining 10% is locked into permanent Hive Power. All revenue from token sales is permanently powered up, and will never be powered down. We currently have 37,461 HP in the curation account, and it builds daily with curation profits and sales of tokens.

At 500 staked DUO you also can use the tipping bot allowing you to share DUO with quality posts, in return you receive the same amount staked in your account as well. It's a great perk that really adds up over time. I have 34.5 total DUO staked that came from tips alone, and that's not an insignificant number!

I continue to buy up DUO little by little as the current tranche of tokens only has less than 11K left to sell. The price will increase to 1.5 Hive a piece when the next tranche comes out and the token price will jump as well. Now is the time to buy DUO if you haven't yet, and don't say I didn't warn you in advance!

This token was created to help out combat veterans on all nations here on Hive and in the real world. As a veteran myself I feel it's important to support others who suffer from the same scars, and it's often the unseen one's that are the worst. PTSD is a huge problem in our community. So I try to pick up one token a week to show my support. I have 14 presently.

As a bonus there is a daily Hive dividend given out to token holders. It's not huge, but it's Hive!

I'm still holding onto my DBOND and DAB tokens. It was started from the same minds that brought us EDSI, so there is a solid record of success. Staked DBOND tokens pay out DAB tokens, which you can stake to get paid out more DBOND tokens. Alternatively, you can leave DAB unstaked to receive liquid Hive instead. My current DBOND balance is up to 280 and DAB balance is 55. I did buy some DBOND this week and have a buy order in as well to pick up some more if the price is right!

Slow but steady growth, I'll take that any day!

And a side not about RUG, I'm still picking some up here and there, I think I have 8 now. It pays out DBOND for just holding it as well. I would have bought more when it came out but it was during the days of DUO creation, and DUO came first!

Proof of Brain token is one that I earn from posting. I am staking and then delegating them to pob.voter. In return once a week I receive a liquid Hive dividend from them, which is always a good thing. I currently have delegated out just over 1,400 POB tokens. I'll continue with this because it's basically free to obtain the tokens and free Hive once a week. A win/win situation.

Please keep in mind the Hive dividend isn't huge, but as they say, never look a gift horse in the mouth!

Silver has made some nice gains this week. I'm hoping to see prices challenge $35 per Troy ounce in the near future. I believe firmly in holding precious metals because they are always going to have value. Silver and gold are better than any fiat, because it can't just be printed.
