Although Laputa is her favorite, I decided to make her Chihiro and Haku
(for now). I don't know why, but I feel like drawing them, especially Haku's dragon form. I thought it would be cool.
hahaOf course, I'll paint more Ghibli stuff in the coming days for my mom and my collection. I guess the size of the watercolor paper plays a role as well. It's so cute that painting on it feels like creating a postcard, and it doesn't take too much time.
Anyway, let me show you some progress shots of my fan art!

First, I prepped the sides of my 10 x 10cm watercolor paper with some masking tape and then sketched Chihiro and Haku using a pencil.

I outlined the drawing using a black gel pen. I then erased the initial pencil sketch. The next part would be coloring. I was in two minds on whether I'd use watercolor pencils or the acrylic markers. I decided on the latter.
Aww... aren't they adorable? It's been a while since I mainly used my acrylic markers for my artwork. I like how vivid the colors are. Using acrylic paint would have been great as well, but I would need finer detailer brushes for that. :)

I re-did the outlining using a black gel pen and did some finishing touches.
Finally, I took out the masking tape around it and wrote my username, signature, and the date for today.
It turned out better than I expected, so I'm happy! I'm excited to make more Ghibli and/or other anime fan art in the coming days.
Thanks for checking this post out! I hope you enjoyed it. See you around!
