Empathy is our greatest strength. â¨
Thank you my students for making this day of my life unforgettable. It's memorable not because they had surprise me with foods & drinks on my table but because of the way they made me feel. In that moment, my whole existence in this world suddenly appreciated. It all made sense. When I look at my students, I don't just see kids sitting on their chairs. I see so much more. I see them as my younger siblings. And I see them as the future of this world. That's probably why I feel such a deep connection with them.
Hello again, Hivers worldwide! I am excited to share a new blog post about my teaching journey. In my last post, I shared about my experience with Grade 10 students. I also shared the three-week rotation system during the internship. So far everything's going well since day 1 in teaching the Grade 7. It's far from what I expected a messy kind of classroom. Most of the students here are well-disciplined and they obey their teachers and student teachers. But there are a few who seem out of discipline. These are my highlights during the two weeks:
It has been a quick week for me since the time we were deployed here. Everybody was able to slowly adjust with the students and environment. Although 3 weeks of teaching the Grade 10 students ended quickly I realized that it made me emotional. I don't know why, lol. I just have a reminiscent of my high school life and it made me relive the fun years. I am not supposed to feel this way but when I look back at how good life was when in high school, it just made me want to go back again. Cringe but I think I still have a little attachment here haha.
I know it could become more tiring in the weeks to come. The first week was quite overwhelming for many of us. This marks the beginning of what it's like being a classroom teacher particularly in the public school system. There were minor changes to our assignments because most of us chose the nearby high school for our pracice teaching. This school is my Alma matter, I attended here from my 7th grade to my 12th grade so I am acquainted with the place. Many of the teachers here still remember me. I transferred to this school since I live closed by, and it's just a few blocks away.
"Today my life begins" as I officially received my pin as a pre-service teacher. We also sang that quoted phrase during the candle lighting. The feeling is so different when you have now realized you've come this way far. It's like a triumphant when you see everyone's big smiles as their pins attached to their uniform. All the hard work and the struggles paid off, as the saying goes you reap what you sow. And now we are almost closer to reaping the fruits of all our hard work within the 3 years and counting.
It turns out that we have to revise our study, sigh. This is the mocha flavor I really love, but it's not the one we ordered. It's an old clip I want to add.Sorry, but I'm a little disappointed by these flavors, except for the burger
