Finally, a day without rain and wind. The sun came out and I took advantage of the warm day to thoroughly clean the porch. It gets pretty dusty over the winter months, and all the furniture needs scrubbing.
After doing the furniture and putting them in the sun to dry, the porch was next.
With a large bucket with soap and hot water the siding was the first thing to get washed down. It always amazes me how much dirt can get into the grain of the siding.
I had ordered 4 new bamboo roll-up shades and was so excited to get them hung up. They look so nice and fresh. The ones I replaced had been up for about 11 years and were getting raggedy looking.
The deck was scrubbed down and the furniture put back on the porch. That was enough for me for the morning. Mika and I took a break, and I had a cup of coffee while she laid in the sun.
I get visitors from time to time over the summer months, and we always have a great time on the back porch chatting with a glass of wine. This pillow was given to me by one of my best friends.
It fits perfectly on the lounge chair and says it all. People love to come and relax and enjoy the gardens, the sound of the water cascading into the little pond, and I always have an assortment of wine to enjoy.
Now that the porch is clean and everything freshened up, Mika enjoyed her afternoon bone sitting in my lap while I enjoyed watching all the bird activity.
