Another week has flown by, and the weather is finally warming up a bit. I walked around the gardens to see what was blooming for the 3rd week of April. These Hellebores are a pretty dusty rose and the only clump of this color that I have left.
This is Charlie, my nieces Himalayan cat who decided to bend down the plant leaf for some personal grounding time. Charlie loves lying on top of her dining room table while she works on her computer. I guess the stack of paper is the perfect spot.
Yay! Spring has Sprung! The early flowers are in full bloom now that the cold temperatures are disappearing. This is a pink variety of Candytuft that is next to my front porch. I love the sweet pale pink compared to the white variety I have in another garden.
When it's raining and too cold to garden, yup, I pulled out the canner and made "Spicy Pork". I had these two pork loins taking up space in the freezer, so I thawed them and preserved them for the pantry shelf. After slicing them both into large chunks, I baked them at 425°F. for 30 minutes to lightly brown them.
This handsome male Sparrow took up residence in the birdhouse next to my little pond. I put cat hair out on the branches for the birds to use for their nests. He is looking around for more hair.If you look carefully, you can see him gathering up a clump in his beak.
Finally, a warm and sunny day after a week of rain. The plants enjoyed the fresh, warm air with the doors open all day. It's hard to believe how big all the plants are getting already. They are the perfect size to plant out into the garden, but they will have to hold off for another two-three weeks.
