Hello to all the women of this community! Last March 8th was International Women's Day and as expected, the city held various events, forums, meetings, conversations and events that sought to highlight the value of women. I would have liked to attend each one of them, but I don't live that close to the city center and I was preparing for a trip, so I decided to choose just one among so many options, so I could enjoy it calmly. I ended up choosing an exhibition that was going to be inaugurated that same day, called Whispers of Fire, by the artist Luisa Dunia, which would be located at the National Art Gallery (Caracas, Venezuela).

Once I woke up that Saturday, I knew I had made the best decision. I chose a purple outfit 💜 that I really liked and I brought my lunch that I had prepared in advance the day before. I knew it was going to take me all day since the Art Gallery usually has several works on display, but I didn't imagine there would be so much to see haha. When I arrived, there were like five exhibitions, so I'll dedicate a post to each one, so as not to make the content heavy and to detail them properly (and because I took too many photographs and it hurts me to only show a couple 😆). The aforementioned exhibition was located on the second level of the Gallery, so by the time I arrived, it had already been over an hour since I'd entered. It was fascinating at first glance, as it featured works made of glass.

I had already seen a few videos on how glass is worked and it still seems like an impressive task to me, so when I saw each piece, I imagined how the artist had made the piece, from the process of imagining it and finally, bringing it to glass itself.

Through this exhibition, Luisa Dunia shows us how fire, such a powerful yet transformative element, can give a new form to a seemingly fragile object. Each silhouette and color was quite striking, but my favorites were undoubtedly those where faces made from the material could be seen, where the colors clashed with each other. Truly fascinating!

It was a unique exhibition, at least for me, who until then had only attended art exhibitions of paintings or sculptures. Discovering different materials through which people can express their emotions and thoughts will always be dazzling. Thanks to Luisa's work, I was able to reflect precisely on how multifaceted a woman can be, without neglecting the subtle and, of course, beautiful nature of hers.

¡Hola a todas las mujeres de esta comunidad! El pasado 8 de Marzo se celebró el Día Internacional de la Mujer y como era de esperarse, en la ciudad se realizaron diferentes actos, foros, reuniones, conversatorios y eventos, en donde se buscaba realzar el valor de la mujer. Me hubiese gustado asistir a cada uno de ellos, pero no vivo tan cerca del centro y estaba preparándome para un viaje, así que decidí escoger entre tantas opciones, solo una, para poder disfrutar tranquilamente. Acabé escogiendo una exposición que iba a ser inaugurada ese mismo día, llamada Susurros del Fuego, de la artista Luisa Dunia, la cual estaría ubicada en la Galería de Arte Nacional (Caracas-Venezuela) .

Una vez que me levanté ese sábado, supe que había tomado la mejor de las decisiones. Escogí un outfit morado 💜 que me gustó mucho y me llevé mi almuerzo que había preparado con antelación el día anterior. Sabía que iba a tomarme todo el día, ya que en la Galería de Arte suelen tener expuestas varias obras, pero no me imaginé que habría tanto por ver jaja Cuando llegué, habían como cinco exposiciones, así que les iré dedicando a cada una su publicación, para no hacer el contenido pesado y para irlas detallando como debe ser (y por que tomé demasiadas fotografías y me da dolor sólo mostrar un par 😆). La exposición mencionada, se encontraba ubicada en el segundo nivel de la Galería, así que, cuando llegué hasta ella, ya había pasado más de una hora desde mi ingreso. Fue fascinante a primera vista, ya que se trataba de obras realizadas con vidrio.

Ya había visto unos cuantos videos de cómo se trabaja el vidrio y no deja de parecerme una labor impresionante, de modo que, cuando veía cada pieza, me imaginaba cómo la artista había hecho la pieza, desde el proceso de imaginarla y finalmente, llevarla al vidrio como tal.

A través de ésta exposición, Luisa Dunia nos demuestra como a través del fuego, un elemento tan poderoso y a la vez transformador, se puede dar una nueva forma a un objeto aparentemente frágil. Cada silueta y color, era bastante llamativo, pero sin duda, mis favoritas fueron aquellas donde podía apreciarse unos rostros hechos con el material y donde los colores se confrontan entre sí ¡Realmente fascinante!

Fue una exposición diferente, al menos para mí, que hasta ese momento, sólo había asistido a exposiciones artísticas sobre cuadros o esculturas. Descubrir diferentes materiales a través de los cuales, las personas pueden manifestar sus emociones y pensamientos, siempre será deslumbrante. Gracias a la obra de Luisa, pude reflexionar precisamente en lo multifacética que puede ser una mujer, sin dejar de lado lo sutil y por supuesto, lo hermoso de su naturaleza ✨
