Winning my first game of blackjack on Stakehouse Den
Hello everyone!
A couple of days ago,
@aggroed made the announcement that the launch was imminent in the
Arcade Colony Discord, which you could join through
this link by the way. A little bit later it has effectively launched. For those of you who have forgotten what Stake House Den is all about, let me refresh your minds.
What is Stake House Den
Stake House Den is a social casino where you can play different luck based games. They will provide eight different games which players will be able to play. The first games which will be available will be Slots, Blackjack and Roulette.
Stake House Den will be part of Arcade Colony, which id a platform for arcade games which is being developed by Invenium Corp. This is a 100% owned subsidiary of Splinterlands. Imagine if the people behind Splinterlands could repeat their success with another concept. If we have a look at the first sale being held for Stake House Den, the sale of 25K Lady Luck packs, they were all sold out in the presale. Now there is the regular sale ongoing, of which there are only 70.179 packs left as you can see on their official website:

Ofcourse it's interesting to have a look what could potentially be inside these packs. As Stakehouse Den is all about casino games, it's not surprising that you can find regular playing cards inside the ladyluck packs. So, there is a mix of Clubs (♣), Diamonds (♦), Hearts (♥), Spades (♠) and Jokers. A 'deck' consists of 52 cards and 2 jokers. So, you have the numbers 2-10, jack, queen, king and ace and these of every suit. Besides the regular foils, there is a 4% chance of finding a gold foil as well.
The chances of receiving a certain card are as follows:
69% Plebs (2-10 for each suit) -
Common25% Royals (King, Queen and Jack for each suit) -
Rare4% Aces (one for each suit) -
Epic2% Jokers -
LegendarySource In the presale a pack was sold for the equivalent of $2. Now that the regular sale is ongoing, you can buy the packs directly from Arcade Colony for the equivalent of $4.
Pro Tip: Check out the secondary market to scoop up some cheap packs. ;)
The games
Roulette: Spin and Win

Slots: Pull and Win
Blackjack: Bet and Win
Winning my first game
Ofcourse I can't just write about these games, I have to try them out and play them. So here I go. I decided to play a game of Blackjacks. I betted 200 Hotsauce and went for it. I had a quite good hand, a Queen and a King:
These cards give me a total of 20, as every court card equals to a total of 10 points. As you have to try to get points as close as possible to 21, having 20 points is very good. So I ofcourse decided to stop and don't ask for another card. The dealer had the following cards:
As you can see he had a total of 22 points which means he lost. It's one of the main rules of Blackjack, you can't go over the total amount of 21 points. If you cross that amount, than you loose.
As I won, I managed to double my amount of Hotsauce I had bet. So for betting 200 Hotsauce, I now have 400 Hotsauce.
Conclusion
I think it's great that Arcade Conoly is adding Casino games to the Hive ecosystem. It will be great to see how their Stakehouse Den will evolve further. I will definitely try out the other Casino games as well and try to increase my Hot Sauce as much as possible. Stay tuned for more reviews of Stake House Den!
