Wrestlecon
WOO recently went to Wrestlecon and guess what, it was awesome! As you can read
here. I think such events are awesome for WOO and Hive. As that way WOO is connected to the real world. Which in my opinion is a great advantage WOO has compared to other web3 projects. Often they are just built on hype and being online. WOO on the other hand has links to the physical world AND can tap on an existing community of wrestling fans. Definitely different compared to most web3 games.
In crypto, there is a saying that projects should build during crypto winter to be able to rocket when yhe next bull cycle is there. Well, that's exactly what WOO has been doing. Their game is up and running, completely ready for the influx of new web3 enthousiasts. Ofcourse there's still room for improvement and a lot of potential upgrades to the game are still possible. Especially when you've read their whitepaper.
Probably the biggest edge WOO has over other projects, is the fact that they are helping (retired) wrestlers. Besides developing a web3 game and giving wrestlers a platform to connect with their fans, WOO is dealing out a percentage of their sales to retired wrestlers. Thus besides all the things they do, they are kind of a charity.
What is WOO?
WOO, aka Wrestling Organization Online is an upcoming play2earn game on the Hive blockchain about wrestling. They are bringing back territory wrestling, where the wrestlers are tradeable nft's. The game launched in 2024. It's an autobattler in the theme of wrestling. There are 3 undercard events and 1 main event. Winning an undercard event gives you 1 point and winning the main event gives you 2 points, so 5 points are what we're fighting for. There are wrestler NFT's and manager NFT's which gives bonuses to the wrestlers. When you win a game, you'll earn $WOO, the governance token of WOO, making it a real #play2earn game!
