Description from Strava:
I have not been doing very many interval runs lately, so I decided I needed one today. My favourite place for this is the uphill West Drive. My standard workout is to run the 300m stretch five times as hard as I can. For me that means a top pace of around 5min/km. I just cannot seem to go much quicker.
I got close to that limit on most of the sprints today. If I keep doing this then I may see some improvement. After each one I am exhausted and so walk some of the way back down the hill.
I am sure some of my lack of speed is due to bad technique, but I have not looked too deeply into how to improve that. If I was into competing then it would be more of an issue and I would probably join a running club where I could get advice, but I like to keep my running casual. That does not mean I do not want to improve.
I may miss parkrun again tomorrow as we have things to do. Perhaps I will manage a quicker time when I do get back there. I know that they are getting more runners, so that may help to drive me on. It can help to have someone to follow.
Have a great weekend and run free!
