Learned to turn rage into power.

Yesterday, a friend arrived at my home in drunken state and insisted to spend the night in my accomodation. But seeing his intoxicated condition, I preferred to send him back. He used to shout a lot in drunken state and may create nuisance in my neighborhood. For me it is the good thing to do but for him it took it as an insult and start vending abusive words. Rather than understanding my situation he gets angry and stopped all kind of communication. Such instances is a common scenario for people getting anger. Anger occurs to any common individual at any given point of time. People get angry as a natural, evolutionary response to perceived threats, injustice, frustration, or pain, designed to protect for themselves or overcome obstacles.

In my case my friend assumed it as an injustice and insult. Although i was right in stopping him from staying overnight. Nobody like to be in center of any nuisance. But his attitude and understanding of the situation simply spoil our understanding. People with a low tolerance for frustration, annoyance, or minor injustices tend to get angry faster and more intensely. Anger often stems from the internal narrative a person creates about an event, rather than the event itself. Anger always leads to certain kind of problem in life. Anger is considered problematic when it is frequent, uncontrollable, or negatively affects relationships, health, or daily life. I used to be one such person, who get angry in my youth days. But as grows older and get many life lesson and teaching I started to control the anger. Though it is not easy to avoid being angry but with each passing days, comes the experience which ultimately helps in managing our day to day anger problem.

Not angry, just observant.

The best way to avoid anger involves cultivating emotional awareness to become a "silent observer" of our feelings rather than reacting. Most of the complication occurs when we react un-necessary over a situation. Over reaction to a situation always worsen any condition. Anger could easily be controlled often by breathing deeply, counting to ten, and letting go of the need for situations to go your way. Instead of suppressing rage, effective management includes cognitive restructuring. If anger is managed through exercise or by taking a break, the peak of the outburst can be reduced quickly, but the physiological return to a calm state is not instantaneous.

In good faith - Peace!!
