UFC doesn't exactly save their best fights for events that are going to take place in New Jersey, so I suppose this isn't a huge surprise that it was the least exciting venue I have seen in a while. The fights as usual took something crazy like 6 hours to get through them all and just like is usual this is largely done on purpose and each 15 minute fight is followed by at least 15 minutes of advertisements and promos that in themselves are also advertisements.

Since CC went away injured, to suggest that the Indiana Fever have struggled is putting it lightly. The fact that their team depends on her for basically 50% or more of their points is evident when she is not on the court. Although I think most people were very concerned and disappointed that she couldn't play in the past several games, I am happy to see it happen now, rather than later in the season.

MMA, or more specifically UFC, lately, has been in a bit of a downward spiral in the past year. There are a number of controversies about various things and for the most part, the once very open-to-talk-about-anything Dana White is remaining very quiet about the issues when honestly, a lot of this stuff needs to be talked about immediately.

I didn't want to believe that she was so instrumental to the operation of this basketball team but if the past 2 games have been any indication of exactly how crucial Caitlin is to Indiana having a shot at winning games, this is a bad sign for the Fever.

Some friends and I were speaking the other day during a game where it kind of appeared as though the Oklahoma City Thunder were taking the day off as they lost badly in a game where previously that had quite easily won the previous 2. It was a near 40 point rout in game 3 of that series and it just didn't seem right. Sure, there are instances where a team that has their backs against the wall can perform better than usual, but scoring 30 points more than they normally would? This isn't something that happens especially when you are playing against what it widely regarded as the best team in the NBA this season and one of the best squads to ever be put on the hardwood ever.

The Indiana Fever and the WNBA at large got some pretty terrible news yesterday as far as their industry is concerned: Caitlin Clark is out of action for at least 2 weeks due to a left quadriceps strain. While this is really terrible for Indiana's offense since even when she isn't doing double or triple doubles, she is a playmaker and is the biggest part behind why the Fever put up points. Even when she doesn't score the basket herself and is cold on 3's, she is normally involved in most of any set piece plays that Indiana turns into points.
