I have a lot of nicknames in my house: bookworm, bedworm, sleep worm, and my favorite and longest phone bug. As long as devices are interested I know how to handle it within minutes of touching it. It's my strongest suit and my life's work, I recommend my family as testifiers. But that's by the way, as a certified phone bug I'm going to share with you my top three pet peeves. As technology grows it eliminates some but some things never change.

A disorganized home page is my first pet peeve, it is one of the most infuriating one too I might add. Whenever I'm with my mum's phone I'm fighting the urge to scream. They're so many disorganized apps, weird fonts, extra large icons and the brightness might as well be the same with the sun. Over the years with each new phone I learn how to probably arrange my phone's homepage, fit my changing aesthetics.

The colour matches the icon, the icons are limited to crucial ones I need to open daily to maintain my streak like Duolingo and my you version app. The clock is in 24 hour format, the wallpaper is a cute cartoon I derived from Pinterest and the world seems same every time I unlock my phone. That is art and I'm sad that my mummy has refused to let me redo her homepage. Oh well.
The next pet peeve is the websites that are clustered with ads, I hate getting to a good part of a story or article and I'm bombarded with ads about “toothpicks that are best for you”. Seriously a lot of things set me on a shirt fuse but this is right up my alley, , I'm reading about the green children of woolpit for a reason I really don't care about toothpicks. The worst part about it is that the x button is almost non-existent and tricks you into clicking the ad. It is an exhausting process, and makes me lose interest in online reading.
Finally, my latest and worst pet peeve is the algorithm. Lately I've noticed that non of my conversation are safe. I could talk about pizza with my friend or text about it and the next minute my entire feed from Facebook to tiktok and even Google is showing me pizza spot and vendors. I'm starting to turn into a conspiracy theorists. I'm questioning everything, scared of socials but also It might be a weird coincidence that has happened over three hundred times, right? I don't know anymore folks but I do know it makes me scream and show everyone around and explain the circumstances around this weird pop up. It has me looking crazy but I can't help it.
It's a weird pet peeve but I guess that's why it is my digital pet peeve. So there you go the homepage clutter, websites with too many ads, and the algorithm being a snitch.
