I've recently celebrated a milestone birthday (think over the hill) and one of my favorite things about surviving another rotation around the sun is restaurants offering free food to celebrate the achievement!This year, I'm taking advantage of the following restaurant food offerings:

Went for a walk across town to enjoy the 70 degree and sunny weather this weekend.It turns out the Jersey Mike’s closest to me doesn’t honor their rewards program so I had to go about 3 miles away to a different location to redeem my birthday sandwich. I suppose the extra distance helped me burn off some of those calories!

I just squeezed by with a little over 5000 steps today while walking home from work… most of the way. I stopped by my go-to Chinese restaurant for dinner and had a very tasty bowl of Singapore Noodles. Oddly enough, I hadn’t experienced Singapore Noodles until last month! I don’t know how I’ve gone through life without them for so long haha!

I just squeezed by with a little more than 10,000 steps today. This was, again, the result of going for a walk during my lunch break and then walking home from work.I’m still not quite adjusted to being in the office everyday. It’s amazing the amount of extra time spent on getting ready and commuting that gets zapped from your day when having to trek into the office daily. I already miss those extra hours each week that I put towards things like sleep!

We celebrated Pi Day (3/14) at work and I baked some mini Pecan Pies for the occasion. We also indulged in Pizza pies, quiche, fruit and custard pies. It was quite a spread.Because of all the pie, I walked home from work to try to burn off at least some of the calories. I managed nearly 8000 steps. It feels great to hit 10,000 steps finally! This time is was the result of walking across town to get home from a dentist appointment. Thankfully the weather was perfect for the 2.5 to 3 mile walk.I got a lot of looks from people and I realized it’s because I was walking by the White House with a t-shirt that says:
