The Chaos Orc strikes me as a valiant warrior who has earned the respect of his people or the hoard. The idea Orc looking disgusting as in the Lord of the Rings might want to cast a shade on the personality of these fine creatures but if you look deeper into other world representations of them, you would see that they are full of life and beauty. That however does not make them weak or less fierce. Just like humans they have everyday jobs and lives. I wanted to capture this simple moment but remembered my promise to draw from the cards till i master once more my technique.

Towards the end of 2024 i caught a glimpse of a movie whose title i wasn’t able to find. What actually happened was that i also forgot about it. Emma Stone was the star actress. Yesterday i caught a glimpse of that same movie or at least its last scenes and i believe i have ascertained the title. The name Cruella was mentioned a couple of times and i’ll start my search from that angle. While the final scene were on, i happened to come across a cool cat whose shades were dazzling and the contrast was pure and since its been a while since i did random portraits i was like; ”i’m hitting this’ and i did.

Before moving on to today’s sketch, i would appreciate it if you can take a few minutes to see this post i made last week. It took a lot of time and concentration as well as strategy to achieve the effect and i fear it went unnoticed.

Today’s sketch is another thing entirely. First i made some adjustments to my technique so as to welcome certain effects at strategic points in this work. After i was able to achieve a near perfection in my mind’s eye i moved on to the next part. The editing this time around took a turn. I wasn’t going to allow disparity in colors reign so much with this sketch so what i did was adjust the hue and warmth. It was spectacular. Once i almost drew this card character but can’t really remember what made me give it up. I am glad i did though cause doing it now feels and looks amazing. Truly an artist consciousness reflects in his or her art.

When at first the last Kingsman movie which was staged in the 20s or there about surfaced, i wasn't able to see the movie for a length of time. Eventually i did and the storyline really wowed me. It is one of regret and a bitter tale as to the importance of a parent owning up to not only their responsibility but being vulnerable and open when doing so. If perhaps the father wasn't so stringent the young chap would probably have survived. Well, why i even made mention of the movie is because of the scene where mountain goats were climbing that slippery slope. It fascinated me so much so that ever since i have kept an investigative eye on those creatures. Fortunately, i saw one Yak that had semblance with them amongst the Splinterlands characters i had been hoarding. And since i have been doing my drawings straight from the card with my unique technique, i decided to try this one out.

The look on its face was something else. I fell in love with how epic it looked. The full nature of this character eluded me till i was making this post. If i had gotten the kind of reference i uploaded below the drawing, my sketch would have been more spectacular. Before i was able to achieve this kind of effect i took my time and traced each part of the dragon. The idea of having a full page to its person when i started looked nice so i went with it. If i was given another chance, i will insert a little drama in the background. Such a fierce creature.
