Una de las ventajas de poder hacer tus accesorios es que los puedes personalizar a tu gusto, pero también te permite reemplazar piezas, así como modificar o reparar algún accesorio que se ha dañado y que no quieres perder como lo es el caso del día de hoy en el que les mostraré cómo pude volver a usar un dije muy lindo de un brazalete que me regaló mi esposo al que se le partió la cadena.

That's the case today, when I'll show you how I was able to reuse a very pretty charm from a bracelet that my husband gave me, whose chain broke.

Esta pulsera como les dije fue un regalo de Navidad de mi esposo de hace unos años atrás, y realmente tal como era era preciosa, pero lamentablemente por el tipo de materiales no puedo recrearlo tal cual o para que quedara por lo menos parecido, pero me resistía a perder el dije que la verdad a mí me encanta y decidí repararlo con lo que tenía en casa y el resultado me gustó bastante, por lo que quise compartirlo con ustedes.

As I mentioned, this bracelet was a Christmas gift from my husband a few years ago, and it was truly beautiful as it was. Unfortunately, due to the type of materials used, I couldn't recreate it exactly as it was or even make it look similar, but I didn't want to lose the charm, which I really love, so I decided to repair it with what I had at home. I was quite pleased with the result, so I wanted to share it with you.

# Paso a paso/Step by step

Como les digo, esta pulsera de verdad me encantaba tal cual era, tenía una cadena muy finita que no era de eslabones, sino corrida, y no se abría con pasador, sino que era deslizable y la cadena colgaba con dos piedritas brillantes en cada lado, de verdad una belleza, pero lamentablemente esos materiales no los he visto en ninguna de las tiendas de materiales de bisuteria, así que estuve viendo cómo poder usar el dije por lo menos.

Mi primera opción fue un collar, porque es un dije mediano, pero finalmente decidí hacer una pulsera, solo que sería muy diferente a la original, y para esto usaría dos cadenas de eslabones diferente diseño, de las que recorté 4 piezas de 5cm cada una.

As I said, I really loved this bracelet just as it was. It had a very thin chain that wasn't linked, but rather continuous, and it didn't open with a clasp, but rather slid open, and the chain hung with two shiny stones on each side. It was truly beautiful, but unfortunately, I haven't seen those materials in any of the jewelry supply stores, so I looked into how I could at least use the charm.

My first option was a necklace, because it's a medium-sized charm, but I finally decided to make a bracelet, only it would be very different from the original, and for this I would use two chains with different link designs, from which I cut four 5cm pieces.

El siguiente paso es unir dos piezas de cadenas de diseño diferente, y para ello usaremos una argolla en cada extremo y de esa forma tendremos listas los dos lados de la pulsera o brazalete.

The next step is to join two pieces of chains with different designs, and to do this we will use a ring at each end, thus completing both sides of the bracelet or bangle.

Listo ese paso, lo siguiente es trabajar con nuestro dije, que aunque podía conectarlo directo a las argollas de las cadenas, decidí darle un toque especial, así que usé dos balines dorados para cada extremo del corazón, y para su armado solo hice pasar el balin por un alfiler de ojo, lo recorté con la tenaza del tamaño que necesitaba y cerré con la pinza de punta redonda.

Once that step was complete, the next thing to do was work on our charm. Although I could have attached it directly to the chain links, I decided to give it a special touch, so I used two gold beads for each end of the heart. To assemble it, I simply threaded the bead onto a pin, cut it to the size I needed with pliers, and closed it with round-nose pliers.

Listos los dos balines los uní a los extremos del dije abriendo solo un poco el "ojito" de un lado de los balines y el otro extremo del balin lo conecté a la argolla de las cadenas y de esa forma está prácticamente listo este brazalete renovado.

Once both beads were ready, I attached them to the ends of the pendant by slightly opening the "eye" on one side of the beads and connecting the other end of the bead to the ring on the chains. And just like that, this revamped bracelet is practically finished.

El último paso es colocar el cerrador, que en este caso es un cerrador en forma de gancho, y para colocarlo, solo abrimos un poco el extremo del gancho, pasamos la argolla y volvemos a cerrar. De esta manera el brazalete queda listo para ser usado nuevamente.

The last step is to attach the clasp, which in this case is a hook-shaped clasp. To attach it, simply open the end of the hook slightly, pass the ring through, and close it again. The bracelet is now ready to be worn again.

Lo genial de todo esto es que si en algún momento logro dar con materiales similares a los de la pulsera original los puedo cambiar sin ningún problema, aunque la verdad es que me gustó mucho como se ve el dije con este nuevo diseño, pero lo que quiero hacerles notar es la facilidad con la que no solo puedes crear tus propios accesorios, sino renovar y recuperar alguno que no quieras perder.

Espero que estas publicaciones te ayuden a tí que sientes la curiosidad de hacer tus propias piezas y no te animas a intentarlo, yo soy totalmente una novata en esto, pero mirando algunos tutoriales puedes aprender un montón. Así que a dejar el miedo y ponernos creativos!

The great thing about all this is that if I ever manage to find materials similar to those used in the original bracelet, I can replace them without any problem, although I really like how the charm looks with this new design. But what I want to point out is how easy it is not only to create your own accessories, but also to renovate and restore ones you don't want to lose.
