Organizador de escritorio al estilo k-pop/ K-pop-style desk organiser 📚🖇

Hello gente bella de Hive! Espero que todos estén muy bien, por mi parte ayer los abandoné porque no me sentía nada bien, pero ya estoy de vuelta con otro trabajito manual para la habitación de Miranda, y se trata de un organizador para colocar en la pared, pero no es un organizador cualquiera, sino uno especial para mi pequeña k-poper (fan del k-pop).

Hello, lovely Hive community! I hope you’re all doing well. As for me, I had to take a break yesterday because I wasn’t feeling well at all, but I’m back now with another little DIY project for Miranda’s room. It’s a wall-mounted organiser, but not just any organiser – it’s a special one for my little K-pop fan.

Este organizador pasó por mil fases ya que aunque es una manualidad del tipo "hágalo usted mismo", yo quería que la cosa se viera como comprado 🤣🤣, y por supuesto eso es un problema, pero se hizo el intento muchas veces hasta que estuve satisfecha, aunque les cuento que después de las fotos finales he decido cambiar algo, pero eso será para cuando ya estemos armando el cuarto. De momento vamos con el paso a paso.

This organiser went through a thousand stages because, even though it’s a “do-it-yourself” project, I wanted it to look like something I’d bought 🤣🤣, and of course that’s a problem, but I kept trying until I was happy with it. I should mention, though, that after taking the final photos I’ve decided to change something, but that’ll be for when we’re actually setting up the room. For now, let’s get on with the step-by-step guide.

Paso a paso/ Step by step

Lo primero que hice fue pintar por dentro las cajitas que utilicé, y para esto usé un pincel mediano y la pintura de color lila y di varias capas de pintura, dejando secar muy bien entre capa y capa.

Les cuento que yo utilicé cajitas de celulares, ya que estas además de ser gruesas vienen muy bien recubiertas, por lo que su apariencia es muy prolija y esto es algo muy importante para mí a la hora de hacer cualquier trabajo manual, ya que un buen acabo es primordial.

The first thing I did was paint the inside of the boxes I was using; for this, I used a medium-sized brush and lilac paint, applying several coats and allowing each one to dry thoroughly before applying the next.

I should mention that I used mobile phone boxes, as these are not only sturdy but also have a very smooth finish, giving them a neat appearance – and this is something very important to me when doing any craft work, as a good finish is essential.

Una vez las cajitas estuvieron bien cubiertas y secas por dentro, me dediqué a trabajar en la parte de afuera, y les cuento que esto fue todo un tema porque yo quería darles un toque diferente y pensé que usando una malla me iría súper bien y lograría marcar los cuadritos de la malla, cosa que no fue así aunque lo intenté de diferentes maneras, pero después de varios intentos aunque no quedó como quería el resultado me gustó muchísimo.

Lo que hice fue usar un trozo de una malla plástica y colocarlo sobre la cajita, para luego dar toques con la esponja cargada con pintura lila y listo.

Once the little boxes were properly coated and dry on the inside, I set about working on the outside, and I have to tell you, this was quite a challenge because I wanted to give them a unique touch and thought that using a mesh would work really well and allow me to highlight the mesh squares – which didn’t happen, even though I tried different methods, but after several attempts, even though it didn’t turn out exactly as I’d hoped, I really loved the result.

What I did was use a piece of plastic mesh and place it over the box, then dab it with a sponge loaded with lilac paint, and that was it.

Cubrí con esta técnica los cuatro lados de las cajitas, y decidí hacer a la más grande un separador, para lo que recorté una pieza de cartón, la pinté de color lila con ayuda del pincel y finalmente la coloqué en la cajita para crear dos espacios.

I used this technique to cover all four sides of the boxes, and decided to turn the largest one into a divider, so I cut out a piece of card, painted it lilac using a brush, and finally placed it inside the box to create two compartments.

En este punto fue que comenzó el problema porque yo tenía en mente hacer un listón también de cartón blanco para pegar abajo la cajita grande y arriba la pequeña, pero cuando lo hice me pareció horrible, luego decidí que solo las pegaría una al lado de la otra y no me gustó, después decidí hacerles una base atrás tipo decorativa, pero adivinen qué pasó? Exacto!!! No me gustó!

Finalmente me puse a dar vueltas por toda la casa y encontré una pieza de plástico firme que me pareció perfecta para este proyecto y con esto en mente decidí avanzar.

That’s when the trouble started, because I’d planned to make a strip of white cardboard to stick the large box at the bottom and the small one at the top, but when I did it, I thought it looked awful. Then I decided to just stick them side by side, but I didn’t like that either. After that, I decided to make a decorative base for the back, but guess what happened? Exactly!!! I didn’t like it!

Finally, I started wandering around the house and found a sturdy piece of plastic that seemed perfect for this project, and with that in mind, I decided to press on.

Lavé y dejé secar la pieza plástica para luego pintarla de blanco con ayuda de la esponja, y una vez logré cubrirla muy bien, pegué en uno de los extremos inferiores la cajita grande, y en el extremo superior opuesto la pequeña, y como la idea es incorporar en su habitación parte de la temática k-pop decidí pegar algunas foto cards de dos de sus grupos favoritos que son Twice y Enhypen, y por cierto no tuve que preguntar los nombres de los grupos para escribirlos, porque ya me los sé (toda una mamá de k-poper 🤣🤣).

Les cuento que las foto cards las pegué con adhesivo doble faz porque "por nada del mundo se pueden dañar", palabras de la jefa de la obra (la niña Miranda), y de esta forma bastante sencilla terminamos el organizador para mi flaca, que como pueden ver está precioso, muy a su estilo (sin muchos periquitos), y puede usarlo tanto en la pared como en el escritorio.

I washed the plastic piece and left it to dry, then painted it white using a sponge. Once I’d covered it thoroughly, I stuck the large box to one of the bottom corners, and the small one to the opposite top edge. As the idea is to incorporate some K-pop themes into her room, I decided to stick on some photo cards of two of her favourite groups, Twice and Enhypen. By the way, I didn’t have to ask her the names of the groups to write them down, because I already know them (a proper K-pop mum 🤣🤣).

I’ll tell you that I stuck the photo cards on with double-sided tape because “under no circumstances must they get damaged”, in the words of the project manager (Miranda herself), and in this rather simple way we finished the organiser for my little girl, which, as you can see, looks lovely, very much in her style (without too many parakeets), and she can use it either on the wall or on her desk.

Y esto sería todo por hoy chicos, seguimos trabajando en este proyecto que me tiene más entusiasmada a mí que a ella, pero me lo estoy disfrutando un montón 💗
