Hello, everyone
I welcome you to my blog. Sports betting is not a hustle, and the earlier you realize that, the better. Some people feel they can win life-changing money from gambling, and for that reason, they have dedicated their lives, time, and money to gambling and sports betting. As much as it is possible to win a huge sum of money from gambling, your chances at winning are slimmer than you can imagine; 99 out of a hundred trials would cost you money, and now imagine what happens to your finances over time. I have really seen people who were once rich go broke, and it is all thanks to sports betting; many who were doing okay for themselves let sports betting get in the way.
I have always believed that I can never get addicted to anything that causes me pain, but it is really painful to see people battle with addictions like addiction to gambling or sports betting. This particular addiction will only take from you, yet people still get addicted to the point of borrowing just to place a bet and end up losing, and from there get roped into huge debt such that they will not be able to pay back, and then they brainwash themselves that if they keep placing bets and trying, then somehow they will win and then pay off their debts, but this will only rope them into more debts.
Addictions can be dealt with if and only if the addict in question is willing to deal with and face his/her fears and get it over with. Those days it was mostly men that battled with gambling and betting addiction, but it's funny how things have changed, and these days even women are topping the charts. Some women now gamble even more than me, and it leaves me in shock whenever I see a woman placing a bet or talking about it.
A tip on how you can do away with gambling addiction.
Doing away with an addiction can be really difficult, but if the addict has their mind made up and is fully determined to let it go, then they can do it.
Avoid being greedy: Many people don't suffer from gambling addiction, but greed has caused them to lose so much money to gambling, just like those suffering from gambling addictions, if not more than those suffering from addictions. I read an anonymous tweet where the guy said he saved up 4.5 million naira for his business but got greedy and wanted to double it, and the best way he thought that could happen was by placing a bet. He lost what he had saved up and was now left with nothing. Greed is the number one thing to deal with if you want to do away with gambling problems.
Accept the problem and admit it: For any problem to be provided with a solution, it has to be confirmed that it is indeed a problem. Some people will never admit that they have a gambling problem or addiction, and that way it makes it very difficult to provide a solution or deal with the situation.
Seek support from people you can confide in: The next step after admitting to the problem is to seek support from people who will not mock you or your situation, people who will be happy to help and still keep your secrets a secret, not people who will go around sharing to others what you shared with them. These people can be friends, family members, or, if one can afford a professional therapist, then even better.
Start to set boundaries and limits: Getting over any addiction does not happen overnight, so at this point you start to make a budget of how much you will spend on gambling in a week or month until you finally quit. Also limiting how many times you hop on to place a bet, no matter how hard it will be, completely quitting any addiction starts by limiting and reducing how much time you spend doing that thing.
Change your circle if need be: If your circle of friends are gambling addicts like yourself and you wish to quit gambling, then the need to change your circle arises because there is no way they are letting you break out; they will keep roping you in on every bet they place.
There are so many things one can do to quit gambling; you can also share yours in the comment section.
