Planning Our Future Home

We left my wife's hometown early this morning. The journey was smooth, with good weather and no rain—thankfully! It took us two hours nonstop to get home.
The most important thing today was that my dad and I visited our land, where we plan to build a new house. This is happening because our current home, where we’ve lived for 11 years, will be demolished for the Pan Borneo Highway project. Even though our house is on titled land, there’s no exception since the highway is big and wide. Like it or not, we have to move.
I’m grateful that we have another piece of land to build on, though it’s currently covered with oil palm trees. We’ll have to clear it, but for now, we just surveyed the area to decide which part needs leveling. We’re still waiting for the compensation payment, and hopefully, it comes soon so we can start clearing the land and find a contractor for our new home.
