Every tourist spot must have a canteen or restaurant that accompanies the place. So is the bathing place that I visited in Berastagi City. This bathing place is not too big, just a small bathing place at the foot of the mountain which is located a little far from the city. But the air is very fresh here, full of peace and no pollution caused by vehicles and factory waste. I inhaled the greedy air in this bathing place and enjoyed the mountain air, places like this are my favorite as I can be free and not feel bored just looking at tall buildings and bright lights at night.
And usually in tourist places like this, the canteen that is there is only a small box building with its merchandise. However, this mini market is also a canteen in the baths. and not only the baths that are being renovated, but the mini market in the baths below the foot of Mount Berastagi is also dressing up so that this mini market feels appropriate to accompany the existing tourist attractions.
This minimarket building is 70 percent permanent made of large mountain stones and half of the minimarket is made of bamboo to bring air into the building. in fact, the bamboo is not just natural ventilation for the building because this minimarket also has its own windows. the presence of bamboo after being observed turned out to be an accessory so that the minimarket has its own appeal besides that the bamboo material used is to save on the building materials used. Because if using stones as a whole, of course there will be a lot of costs used and the transportation costs to enter this area are quite expensive. While bamboo is very abundant on the edge of the forest around this tourist attraction.
Around the mini market they use a steel canopy to withstand the mountain winds that sometimes blow hard towards the mini market and the weather that often changes quickly makes this canopy able to protect the building and also make the bamboo data last longer. From the side of the building, the canopy only uses zinc as a roof but does not use a ceiling. Different from the front of the building whose canopy has been coated with a Tepas type ceiling or woven bamboo. This will neutralize the heat during the summer of course so there is no stuffiness here.
And on the floor of the canteen they use cement which is then formed into cracks resembling the mountain rocks they use to give the impression of blending with the concept. This mini market is quite spacious and there are many chairs for visitors here, but it is really unfortunate in my opinion because I hope the chairs here have their own design so that they look much classier and have a concept and of course visitors will be more comfortable when they are in the mini market, the continuation is that they will shop more for snacks or soft drinks. They can lean on chairs that have backrests, not chairs like this. the reason is that not all visitors here want to take a bath at the tourist attraction. there are also those who just look at the scenery like me without being interested in enjoying the bath. But once again I appreciate their concept. And this is already quite good for a small natural bathing tour at the foot of the mountain in the Berastagi area, North Sumatra, Indonesia.
