Hi there, here I am again with what I think is the last review of the Ghibli Studios films, soon I will be telling you about my personal rankings. This time I will talk about Tales from Earthsea, considered by some as another animation gem, others as an act of betrayal by Hayao Miyasaki's son who directed the film without his father's permission, and others even consider it as the worst Ghibli film, but first let's see what it's about 😄.
Holaaa, aquí estoy de nuevo con la que creo es la última review de las películas de Los Estudios Ghibli, pronto les estaré habland de mi rankng personal. En esta ocasión les hablaré de Cuentos de Terramar, cnsideradas por algunos como una joya más de animación, otras como un acto de traición del hijo de Hayao Miyasaki quien dirigió la película sin el permiso de su padre, y otros la consideran incluso como la peor película de Ghibli, pero antes veámos de qué se trata 😄
There are certain signs of a natural imbalance in Earthsea as there have been sightings of dragons, and it is assumed that for a long time they have not mixed with humans, due to this and other anomalies, Gvilán (a great archmage) goes to investigate what is happening. While he is resting from his journey he sees that some wolves are about to devour a young boy who was running away, so without further ado he helps him and asks him to join his journey, in this way they arrive at the city where they see that there is a terrible traffic of people and that apparently all this happens because of the excesses of a certain Lord Spider, a terrible dark wizard who will soon want to seize the will of Arren (the young runaway).
Hay ciertos indicios de un desequilibrio natural en Terramar pues han habido avistamientos de dragones, y se supone que desde hace mucho tiempo ellos no se mezclan con los humanos, debido a esto y a otras anomalías, Gvilán (un gran archimago) va a investigar qué sucede. Mientras está descansando de su viaje ve que algunos lobos están a punto de devorar a un jovencito que estaba huyendo, así que sin más lo ayuda y le pide que se una a su viaje, de esta manera llegan a la ciudad donde ven que hay un terrible tráfico de personas y que al parecer todo esto sucede por causa de los desmanes de un tal Lord Araña, un terrible mago oscuro que pronto querrá apoderarse de la voluntad de Arren (el jovencito fugitivo)
Honestly I wouldn't consider it as the worst film of the studio, because for me it was very entertaining and many of its scenes completely captured my attention, especially at the beginning when Arren kills his own father, or when he suddenly can attack all the guards to defend Therru, but being completely objective and analytical I feel that it lacks a lot of context for us to understand the work in depth and I think this is because at the time of writing the script, they understood that those who would see the film would already know the novel on which it is based, so those of us who have only seen the film are almost completely out of context and feel a huge void, we even feel the story is a bit flat, there are many questions to be answered, for example why does Therru hate Arren? Why did he kill his father, was it because of Lord Spider's influence? Why couldn't he draw the sword? and many more.
Honestamente yo no la consideraría como la peor película del estudio, ya que para mi fue muy entretenida y muchas de sus escenas capturaron por completo mi atención, sobre todo al inicio cuando Arren mata a su propio padre, o cuando él de pronto puede atacar a todos los guardias para defender a Therru, pero siendo completamente objetiva y analítica siento ue falta muchísimo contexto para que podamos comprender la obra a profundidaad y creo que esto se debe a que al momento de escribir el guion, dieron por entendido que los que verían la película ya conocerían la novela en la que está basada, por lo tanto los que solo hemos visto la película quedamos casi totalmente fuera de contexto y sentímos un vacío enorme, incluso notamos la historia un tanto plana, quedan muchas preguntas por resolver, por ejemplo ¿Por qué Therru odia a Arren? ¿Por qué él mató a su padre, fue por influencia de Lord Araña? ¿Por qué no podía desenvainar la espada? y muchas más.
The plot to proceed of some characters feels very poor and even forced, the final scenes even feel rushed, even so I think what makes it interesting is that without a doubt it has an enormous beauty in its aesthetics and an excellent animation, the movements of the characters in action are fluid and dynamic and the soundtrack is definitely at the height of Ghibli.
El argumento para proceder de algunos personajes se nota muy pobre y hasta forzado, las escenas finales incluso se sienten precipitadas, aún así creo que lo que la hace interesante es que sin lugar a dudas tiene una enorme belleza en su estética y una excelente animación, los movimientos de los personajes en acción son fluidos y dinámicos y el soundtrack definitivamente está a la altura de Ghibli.
So on this occasion I would not recommend this film because even without having read the novel, I know that it was not a good adaptation, but you can watch it and draw your own conclusions. Thank you very much as always for allowing me to express my thoughts and for reading 😉.
Así que en esta ocasión yo no les recomendaría esta película porque aún sin haber leído la novela, sé que está no fue una buena adaptación, no obstante ustedes pueden verla y sacar sus propias conclusiones. Muchas gracias como siempre por habrme permitido expresar mis ideas y por leer 😉
