The cats rules!
There was an incident with one of our cats recently. It’s probably why I stopped talking about them and I don’t even know why. We currently have 10 cats. 1 senior cat, 4 adult cats and 5 kittens. Some of you probably have seen Micky, this tabby cat is the most spoiled among my other cats.
She is around a year old and is still suckling its mother. She likes to sleep, eat and sleep behind my laptop when I am at my desk. The thing is, she recently got pregnant and gave birth. However, she has no conception of motherhood and when she gave birth, she abandoned her kitten and left to die.
We tried our best to revive the kitten but to no avail. In the past, whenever this happened, Cici, our senior cat, liked to step in and help instinctively but somehow with Micky’s kitten she didn’t want to do it anymore. So, the kitten died within just a few days of birth.
Micky gave birth but walked away...
At the same time, Micky still roams around as if nothing happened. Just look at how innocent she looks and she clearly doesn’t have that motherhood conception. She just likes to play.
So much has happened with our kitten including Mio, who got a stroke but has recovered. She’s not in the best condition and couldn’t do some normal things that a cat should. It’s very unfortunate that it happens.
This afternoon I was hanging out outside accompanied by Sunny, Milly and Micky. These three are the most playful and carefree cats in our house. They are also often roaming around and especially Sunny who only comes back home when she’s hungry, other time she just likes roaming around the roof and destroyed our roofing 😅
Having that many cats in our house feels like the house is theirs and we’re only renting. Usually during events, we are keeping them separate except the well trained one, Cici, who doesn’t bother others and likes to be in the frame whenever we take any family picture.
The kittens are on their playful stage and you best believe they are so naughty. Some of them are so hard to be potty trained and cause a mess. They are also like little gremlins, they eat a lot and are always ravenous.
I never heard a growling sound before from the other cats but these kittens make it a lot when they are snatching a treat. It’s as if they say, “ stay away, this is mine” and it’s not like they don’t get the same treats or snacks, they all get it.
Some of the kittens seem to have worm symptoms and I am trying to deal with it. It’s really time to just give them proper housing and after reading some declutter blog recently, I am motivated to tackle a huge pile of stuff to free up more room for the cats so they live properly and especially making a designated place for their litter box as we need more than 3 now.
I guess there are so many things about them that I like to talk about but it’s just that too many stories of them got me a bit overwhelmed. I don’t know where to start but this afternoon made me want to talk about the lives of the cats in my home.
