From my last trip to Belgium, I had a few treasures still chilling in the fridge – and today I finally opened one: the Immortelle Tripel Oak Aged. Brought it back from my visit to
@detlev (which honestly feels like ages ago).
This Belgian beauty packs a solid 8.6% alcohol, but you wouldn’t guess it. The taste is smooth, rich, and surprisingly balanced. It’s got this subtle vanilla aroma – turns out it comes from French oak chips used during brewing. Super nice touch!
It’s a blonde tripel with a good hop character (IBU 25), not too bitter, and really generous in flavor. The beer is fine-tuned, not overpowering, and goes down incredibly well when served cold – I’m enjoying it right now between 8 to 10 °C, just like they recommend.
Perfect for slow evenings and nostalgic thoughts of Belgium.
And a little bit to play with for a HIVE Beer Database.
