Dogs and coffee for #BeautifulSunday and #SublimeSunday

The town next to the city is celebrating its Strawberry Festival. It is a month-long festival as well and strawberry lovers will delight in this for as the name implies, it is all about strawberries.

It slipped my mind to check if Strawberry Festival is happening this year. I think after the festival we had here in the city, I don’t think I’m not ready for another one that soon. Still, when I saw online that there will be a dog show today, I made sure that I will go and check it out.

When we arrived at the municipal hall, I thought it will be held at the park but all I saw were stalls selling strawberries and everything made from or with strawberries. I saw some dogs here and there. As I near the gym, that’s when I heard on the speaker the host of the show talking about dogs and what will happen or happening at that time.

There outside the gym, dogs and their owners were there. The show is free admission so we went in and saw lots of different dogs. The biggest ones there are the malamutes and the smallest are the chihuahuas. The center of the stage is for the dog show. To the left of the stage is the paw painting competition. There was a delay in starting the dog show and it took about 10 minutes or so after the judges were introduced before the show actually started.

It was nice to see pets in different costumes matching their owners. I would have loved to stay longer but my lower back discomfort started acting up. I managed to stay a little bit longer until I can’t bear it anymore. Standing for a long time gives me discomfort. I prefer walking or doing other movements than standing.

I then went to find my partner who was out there in one of the shops at the park.

We then headed back to the city and met with a friend over coffee at first before going for lunch and then another coffee for the final time before calling it a day. We did a lot of walking too together with our friend’s dogs. She brought two of her dogs. One of them was so eager to walk.

We tried this new cafe that replaced a former business there. I haven’t been to the cafe that this new one replaced. The coffee tastes good but I was surprised that it quickly cooled down. I’m used to hot steaming coffee. The tiramisu I ordered was delicious and we all agreed. The moist chocolate cake was not that moist. The top half is okay but the bottom tastes like plastic. It seems like an old cake. The price of the chocolate cake was not worth it. At least at that time. That was the only thing we were disappointed about. The drinks of my friends were okay.

We needed this dog show and walk and coffee as a distraction but also to talk over things for major decisions had to be made. Support your friends and loved ones and the people who matter to you in their decisions. We can only influence them in choosing, which we think will be beneficial in the long run. At the end of the day, the decision is not ours to make. So be a friend.
