Tumeric is among the spices I don't lack in my kitchen for cooking or for food coloring but I haven't unlock the tea recipe until the day I visited my friend Oby , I was surprised to see her taking tumeric tea because I thought tumeric is only consume in food not knowing that there is recipe for tea. Actually Learning never ends. .
Today I was thrilled to share this tumeric tea recipe I learnt from my friend.
Tumeric is an excellent ancient spice that has been used for centuries in various cultures to support health. It has potential benefits which you may want to know.
BENEFITS OF TURMERIC TEA
*Tumeric has anti-inflammatory properties which the most active compound is curcumin.
Curcumin is a powerful compound which may help lower inflammation.
*Tumeric tea may proctect against cell damage and oxidative stress due to its anti-oxidant properties etc
Let's proceed with the recipe:
INGREDIENTS
1 teaspoon of tumeric powder
A piece of fresh ground ginger (optional)
1 tablespoon of Powdered milk
Half teaspoon of black pepper
1 cup of water
PREPARATION
*Boil water and put your tumeric, black pepper and ginger in the cooking pan.
*Cook on low heat for 5-8 minutes.
*Strain with a cheese cloth or any kind strainer you have.
You can add honey or lemon if desire. I love the earthy and warm flavor of ginger so no need to add honey or lemon. I am good to go with ginger flavor.
