Tofu Sauce

Greetings to Vegan Community.
This is my first post here in Plant Power. I love Vegan Recipes but I am not actually a vegan. Today I decided to make this dish “Tofu Sauce” and I am so thrilled to share it here.
In my country , we have three major ethnic groups. Ibo, Hausa and Yoruba. Yorubas and Hausas are conversant with tofu which they call in their dialet, "awara" for Yorubas and "tahu or tofu" for Hausas. Igbos are not familiar with tofu and I think they don't have a name for it because I am from the Igbo tribe. That's why some people react when they see me eat tofu. I have teach many of my friends and relatives how to make tofu from scratch and some of the tofu recipes.
Enough of talking lets proceed;

Ingredients

Instructions

  • Heat the Palm oil in a pan over low heat for 1 minute. You can use any oil of your choice. Palm oil is what I have at the moment.
  • Add sliced onions and sauté until golden brown.
  • Add the hot Pepper Sauce and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Add cumin, coriander, black pepper or any spice of your choice.. Cook for 2 minutes stirring constantly
  • Pour in the tomato paste and cook for another 2 minutes.
  • Pour in the vegetable stock, mix and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Now add your already diced tofu into the sauce and stir till the tofu mixes well with the sauce and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  • Serve with any food of your choice: Pasta or your favorite dish. I served mine with Spaghetti and Steamed Vegetable.
Honestly, this dish is so nice, I love the texture of tofu and the taste of the sauce is something to dream of.
Thanks for stopping by. Hope you enjoyed reading my post.
