And as the snow was set in the country and everything came into a standstill, that also meant there was a stand still here in the house.
No fumbling around in the garden, because covered in snow. No heading towards somewhere and do something outdoorsy, because a lot of hassle just leaving the streets. And not a lot of daylight, because the clouds were snowy and covering the cold skies.
Winter as it comes here in the Netherlands and since I didn't want to fill my entire days with just collecting screen time, I decided so start an old fashioned jigsaw puzzle.
This was a jigsaw that I had bought when I was spending my time in Switzerland, and those winters there were also long when I was not skiing there.
Jigsaw puzzles are just for when you have....the time.
Stare at them for a while, lay down some pieces at their spots, draw the conclusion that the light is shit and you can not see anything anymore. Walk away, and return the next day.
Rinse and repeat.

And honestly..This of course is a terror of a puzzle. As all puppies have the same colors and look alike, and all kind of background is also the same sort shade of grey and blue.

And we slowed down even more
And as the inevitable of winter flu season also started to strike the house here, the pace slowed down even more. It felt like every normal chore was talking the double amount of time, as we kept looking at each other who was going to do what, since we both didn't really have the juice to do a lot more.
Even the dog slowed down as well, as the shorter walks didn't seem to bother him at all.
And every day I sat at my table and tossed in a few pieces in the puzzle. And every day the pile of used handkerchiefs also seemed to grow with the amount of puzzle pieces laid on their specific spot.
Usually when a jigsaw is a while down the road, it gets easier. But with this one it just didn't seem to be the case. Even until the last breath I still needed to twist and turn every piece at least once or twice before letting it fill the gap.
Or...did it just take so long because of my present state of snot?
Regardless...I didn't mind the slowing down at all. But let the snot disappear so can pick up the pace and get back to living again!
